First let me say that I LOVE this collection! MAC seems to always come through every year with their summer makeup. What I love most about this collection is that it contains many corporate-friendly colors and textures–you won’t have to have a separate weekday and weekend makeup kit for a while. Plus, the colors look great on the lightest of light to the darkest of dark. There’s something here for everybody!

I hauled my behind to MAC yesterday thinking I would only pick up 1 or 2 items for myself and the Solar Bits for my client kit. Nope–let’s talk about how I spent around $95 and that’s WITH my pro makeup artist discount! I got:

What You Should Get:
* Any of the eyeshadows—they come in such soft and beautiful colors that will look good on any skin tone, but if you have very dark skin with cool undertones, I would only use Tempting as a highlight shade–too much gold looks harsh on cool undertones.

*Lipsticks–Brave New Bronze (fair to medium skin) Purple Rite (all skins with cool undertones) Sunsational (all skins with warm undertones) Tribalist (olive to dark skins)

*Liplasses–Liberated (all skins with warm undertones), Fierce & Fabulous (all skins with cool undertones), Gold Rebel (all skins with warm undertones), Style Warrior (all skins–and looks beautiful as a shimmery nude for darker skins)

*Solar Bits (these things are super multitasking! Use them as highlighters, mix them with lotion to bronze your legs and decolletage, mix them with nail polish to get an instant metallic, etc.) Scatterrays (fair skin) Bronzecape (medium skin), Impassioned (dark skin)

*Lustre Drops (also multitasking–use them to add shine to your legs, highlight your cheekbones, on your decolletage, just about anywhere you want a nice glow) Pink Rebel (fair skin–but also looks good on very dark skin) Gold Rush (medium skin) Bronze Hero (medium to dark skin)
