Plus-Size Style Tips:
1. Understand that “plus-size” refers to clothing size only (usually size 16 and up). Not all plus-size clothing is for every plus-size chica–you still need to follow the Dressing for Your Body tips I’ve mentioned on this site. You can be a plus-sized hourglass, a plus-sized boyish frame, plus-sized petite, etc. so you’ll need to dress accordingly.

2. Don’t be afraid of color. Sure, an all-white outfit is tough even for a size 2 to pull off, but don’t hide your gorgeous body in all-black ensembles–break out some brights! Remember that dark colors recede (or make things appear smaller) and light colors project (or draw attention to or make things appear bigger).

3. Don’t forget the accessories. While plus-size clothing has come a LONG way from the dowdy fashions of the past, there is still some overall work to be done in this industry. One way a plus-size fashionista can stay on top of the trends is with accessories. The rocker-chic look is big this season so look for belts, bags, and shoes with grommets, studs, and deconstruction.

4. Exude that confidence! If you don’t believe you’re a hot chick, who else will?

P.S. Don’t forget to enter in the Monavé Mineral Makeup Giveaway–entries must be in by Sunday, May 31st!
