Ojon, the people of beautiful hair, are answering your questions about keeping your hair healthy and strong. Recently two The Style and Beauty Doctor readers submitted questions and here are the answers.
Send me your best hair question and you could win a full size Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment Spray, a leave-in treatment that infuses hair with a nourishing dose of Omega-3, 6, and 9 essential fatty acids. One lucky reader who submits a hair question will be chosen on Friday, July 10th at 11:59 P.M. EST. Sorry U.S. residents only are eligible for the giveaway, however questions can come from any international beauty to be answered.
Question #1: “I’m a natural girl (African American with tightly coiled, kinky hair), and the summertime is a difficult time for me, humidity + my hair= NO GO. I normally keep it “up” (flex sets or braids) for four weeks at a time, but I’m worried that it’s not getting enough conditioner and moisture. How can I keep my hair up for long periods of time, but still maintain its health?”
Answer: The best way to keep hair hydrated is to start with a moisturizing treatment. We recommend using a thin layer of Restorative Hair Treatment (a rich oil) throughout your hair before you put it up. It keeps hair moisturized and, most importantly, strong to help minimize the breakage. Also, make sure you’re using a hydrating cleanser and conditioner. It’s worth it to splurge on the good stuff if you’re struggling with dryness and breakage. Try Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, to infuse hair with a daily dose of Ojon oil, keeping it moisturized but not heavy.
If you’re looking for something with a little hold, we also have a styling treatment that helps to seal in moisture while giving hair a bit more pliability. Hydrating Styling Cream provides light hold to smooth frizzy, dry or dehydrated hair. The unique cream consistency is formulated without alcohol, known to dry out hair.
Restorative Hair Treatment Spray is a great way to finish your look. Enriched with exotic Ojon and Swa oils, it infuses a nourishing dose of Omega-3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids while adding shine. The flexible, light hold formulation can be layered throughout the day without weighing hair down or causing buildup.
Strong, healthy hydrated hair is less likely to break and retains moisture, regardless of style. Using the right products for your hair type can make a world of difference in the health of your hair.
Question #2: “What causes hair shedding and how can I improve/treat shedding?”
Answer: Hair that is overly dry and damaged can be subject to breakage or even hair loss. There are many things that can contribute to hair shedding. We have outlined a couple below, but recommend you see your doctor if the problem persists. It can be a sign of other underlying problems and it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Ojon has a collection of products called SWA that is designed to increase hair strength and instantly targets hair density loss. It’s a four-step ritual that helps preserve and smooth hair fibres while minimizing breakage caused by damage. The formulas are clinically proven to penetrate the hair shaft to the cortex, using rich oils to strengthen and protect hair to preserve the strands you have. From the inside out, Swa helps hair become stronger, healthier, and less prone to breakage!
Also, take control of bad hair habits. Wearing your hair back in a tight ponytail, too much heat styling and color treatments can take their toll. Try to minimize the external factors that contribute to unhealthy hair and shedding.
