Ask Danielle: Short Haircut Suggestions for a Round Face

The Style and Beauty Doctor reader Brianna writes in asking, “I want to get a trendy short haircut but I have a round face so I dont know if I should get my haircut short. Do you have any suggestions for a cute trendy chic haircut that would fit a round face?”

Brianna,

The best short haircut for a round face is tapered on the sides with lots of volume at the crown. The volume at the top helps to elongate a round face so that it appears slimmer and more oval (which is the “ideal” face shape). Avoid any cut where the hair falls on the widest part of your face as this will only widen the area and make it appear larger.

      I had a really short cut when I was in junior high and got called all kinds of names (like Moe from The Three Stooges….lol). I don’t think I could go that short again either…lol

    I have a really round face and I think the benefits of having a round face is that you can basically rock any hairstyle or length and look Fabulous! I've rocked hair much shorter than Rhianna's and got many many compliments, I've done the Kelis cut, the MJB, Long 18" extensions, short bobs, short curly, long wavy! I love change needless to say! The important thing is fly dangly earrings and the confidence to Rock It!
