Work it Out with Exercise TV On Demand
Experts say that about 80% of what it takes to lose weight comes from actually getting to the gym. OK, so maybe “experts” don’t say that—I just made it up. But seriously, if your mind isn’t right about working out and you don’t have convenient resources, chances are the only lifting you’ll do is to reach over and grab the last cheese doodle wedged in between the cushions on your couch. Or at least that’s how I operate.
Two years ago I had this genius idea to join Lucille Roberts because it was only 4 blocks away from my day job. But then I realized the gym I joined was about the size of my shoe closet (meanwhile I don’t have a shoe closet) and my job moved me about 15 miles away to another office with no LR in sight. Sure, I could have come home from work and drove maybe 3 or 4 miles to the one near my house, but that required me to come home from work and drive 3 or 4 miles to the LR near my house. When I’m in the house, I’m in the house, and chances are I’m not coming back out again unless it’s for something greasy or sparkly. So my gym membership sat unused. That’s when the burgers started to pile up and then I got fed up–literally.
I took to action. One day while lazily sitting on my couch I came across Exercise TV On Demand. Having had cable service that only had about 70 channels for years, I never knew one could get such a thing from their living room. I had access to TONS of different workouts—cardio, strength training, pilates, yoga, etc.—more than I would get at the gym and I didn’t even have to leave the house. Sweet! And even sweeter–I lost about 20 pounds in the process.
A car accident is keeping me from my workouts these days (some fool rear-ended me *smh*), but prior to that I was able to get 5 workouts in a week. My favorites are Jillian Michaels’ Boost Metabolism, Jillian Michaels’ No More Trouble Zones, and Less is More Cardio—all knock-your-breath-out, feel-like-you-will-die, drenched-in-sweat workouts.
Check with your cable provider to see if you get Exercise TV On Demand or you can download tons of workouts at exercisetv.tv.

OMG those videos really are no joke. I use to think they were a gimick then one morning I decided to look up a taebo workout on youtube (another great place to go btw) and it kicked my butt. The only problem I find is that I quit whenever I want so Its good to do it with an friend for that extra push.
I gotta check out youtube videos as well. I like the Jillian Michaels videos because she’s always saying “don’t quit” or “think of all the reasons why you’re doing this” and I feel like she’s in my living room and will knock me out if I stop…lol.
