10 Minute Makeup: Sanaa Lathan’s Look for Pride Magazine

Gorgeous actress Sanaa Lathan recently posed for a photoshoot for Pride magazine looking fabulous as usual. And what’s great is that you can get her look (no matter your skin tone, age, or size) AND do it in 10 minutes or less. Check it out:

You’ll Need:

*Eyeshadow primer (try Urban Decay Primer Potion)
*A slightly shimmery eyeshadow about the same color as your skin (see MAC Eyeshadow Guide for hints)
*A slightly matte or slightly shimmer eyeshadow about 1-2 shades lighter than your skin (see MAC Eyeshadow Guide for hints)
*Volumizing mascara (try Rimmel Glam’Eyes Mascara)
*Loose face powder (try Becca Fine Loose Finishing Powder)
*Black eyeliner (lighter skins go for brown, it’s less harsh) try Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes
*Pink blush (the darker your skin, the brighter the blush) try NARS Blush in Mata Hari for lighter skins and NARS Blush in Desire for darker skins
*Angled blush brush (try MAC 168)
*A sheer pink gloss (try MAC Lipglass in Cultureclash for lighter skins or MAC Lipglass in Cultured for darker skins)
*Concealer if necessary (try Becca Compact Concealer)
*A stippling brush (try MAC 187)
*Makeup setting spray (try Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray according to your skin type)

To Do:
1. Start with a cleansed, toned, and moisturized face according to your skin type.
2. Apply concealer only where you need it. Apply it to the back of your hand so that it “warms” a bit and has a better consistency on your skin. (1 min)
3. Lightly dust loose powder with a stippling brush to set your concealer as well as give your skin a natural finish. (1 min)
4. Apply eyeshadow primer to entire lid (you can use your fingers). Apply the eyeshadow shade close to your skin tone on the lid and in the crease. Apply the lighter eyeshadow shade on your brow bone area. Blend carefully with your pinky or an eyeshadow blending brush (like MAC 224) (3 mins)
5. Apply two to three coats of mascara paying special attention to the outer corners of your lashes. (2 mins)
6. Lightly dust blush to your cheekbones with an angled blush brush. (1 min)
7. Apply gloss. (1 min)
8. Finish your makeup with a setting spray to help it last all day. (less than 1 min)

Extra step: blow a ton of kisses at yourself in the mirror as you marvel over how great you look.
