What I Bought This Weekend Plus The Style and Beauty Doctor and Nasilele Photography Tweet Your Face Off Event Pics

Nas of Nasilele Photography and Me

The Tweet Your Face Off event held by me and my photographer friend and business partner Nasilele Photography was SO MUCH FUN! Thank you to all who came out because without you it wouldn’t have been a success. It was so great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We even had folks coming from as far as Connecticut and some who stepped out of their comfort zone and came alone to support. We got about 100 RSVPs and even with the snow in NYC, we had a turn out of about 50-60 lovely people.

Man, I love you guys!

Those of you who wanted to come but couldn’t, we felt you there in spirit :)

This one’s pic heavy so brace yourselves!

Trying a lip color on a beautiful guest

I was so busy serving lip cocktails at the Lip Bar that we were 3/4 into the event before I realized I hadn’t taken any pics. If you were there and have pics, please feel free to upload them to The Style and Beauty Doctor Facebook Page.

Attendee April here won our Rene Furter/Klorane/Glytone giveaway!

We had a special giveaway where attendees had to tweet using hastag #nasphoto to enter for a chance to win. April (above) was the lucky grand prize winner of a basket filled with hair and skin care goodies.

Thanks to the lovely folks at Karen Oliver and Associates, April won:

Dr. Graf’s Stop Aging, Start Living: The Revolutionary 2-Week pH Diet That Erases Wrinkles, Beautifies Skin, and Makes You Feel Fantastic book, Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo, Rene Furterer Finishing Spray, Avene Thermal Spring Water, the Avene Cleanance Mask and Cleanance Purifying Lotion, the Klorane Papyrus Mask, Klorane Soothing makeup removal wipes with cornflower, Glytone Exfoliating Body Wash and Glytone Nail & Cuticle Cream

The lovely lady on the right reads The Style and Beauty Doctor and says I got her to wear blush! Her makeup looked gorgeous!

The following pics were taken by the lovely and so cute Erika of Curl Theory! Check her out at curltheory.blogspot.com. See her recap of the event here.

And onto what I bought!

Tionna Smalls, relationship expert and one of the stars of VH1′s “What Chili Wants” also owns a really cute accessories store called Lovey’s which has both a brick and mortar store located at 377 Marcus Garvey Blvd in Brooklyn and a online store at ShopLoveys.com. I haven’t had a chance to visit the actual store (maybe when this NYC snow clears up), but I did buy an adorable red lip brooch:

It’s perfect because 1. I love red lips 2. I love blazers and this will look great pinned on one 3. It was only $16

Since I don’t buy anywhere near as many clothes as I used to, I think this year I’ll dedicate to buying really great accessories to help complement the items I love from my closet. It works out better budget-wise…lol.

So that was this weekend! What did you guys/do buy? And if you were at the party tell me what you thought in the comments!

P.S. Nas and I also offer Glam Parties at Nasilele Photography Studio or at your home. Personal Glam Party© is a great party idea for birthdays, bachelorette parties, Sweet 16s, corporate events, or just because! You and your guests get the celebrity treatment and have full makeup makeovers and portraits taken. For more information and/or to book, go here.

We also plan on having another Tweet Your Face Off event either this spring or summer so stay tuned :)

Danielle, congrats on your event being a success, you look so cute! Love the outfit! I hope I am back in NYC when you have another event.

Well I sent my mom in the treacherous NYC snow to get me some stuff, Mac Blot powder in Deep dark, Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder #218 & for some reason while she was at the MAC store, she saw Studio fix powder plus foundation in NC50 & decided to pick it up for me, mind you I already have it in NW45, because that’s the shade I was matched to a while back (I’m NW47 in most of MACs products) but she said “NC50 looked more like me” whatever that means..SMH she has a mind of her own..we’ll see what it looks like when it gets here on Wed. I also ordered Ben Nye Final seal spray & 2 amazing Blazers from Esprit.

Thanks, Nesh! The event was so fun and hope you can make the next one :)

That’s really cool that your mom went makeup shopping for you! Let’s see if that NC50 works for you—some people can go NC or NW. I have to do a post on Ben Nye Final Seal—I love it. I wish it were warmer here so I can see how it holds in NYC humidity.

Sounds like you had a REALLY great weekend :)

Great job on your event, looks like it was a great time! My friend and I headed over there later in the evening, but really couldn’t find any parking :( so we went to Sugarcane instead, lol.
I love your leather blazer… so chic! Hopefully I will see you at the next one, when the heaps of snow won’t steal parking space!

      Hey Dobe!

You know I was looking for you, too! The snow is really wrecking the parking situation—can’t wait for it to melt. Sorry it kept you from coming :( How was Sugarcane?
