Happy Monday, everyone!
How was your first weekend of summer?
Mine was pretty busy. I did makeup for a gorgeous bridal party on Saturday (one of the bridesmaids even reads this blog!) and then yesterday I headed down to the Financial District to do makeup for an engagement shoot (want to book me for your next event—click here).
I actually think the Financial District might be my new hang out spot. There’s some nice restaurants down there, it’s one of few places in Manhattan that isn’t inundated with people on the weekend, and OMG there were sooo many cute guys walking all up and through.
As a matter of fact, let me go charge my laptop and blog from the Financial District from now on…
Anyway, I didn’t do too much shopping-wise this weekend. I did pick up this Alice + Olivia draped Grecian dress Friday night from the Neiman Marcus website:
I love it because it’s the perfect go-to dress for any summer activity. I hate when I have to go somewhere and I’m frantically trying to find something nice and come up with nothing so I like to plan ahead…lol. The draping of this dress means it will hide a multitude of sins as well. I can’t wait til it gets here!
Then since I’m currently obsessed with body scrubs, I hit Sephora and The Body Shop to buy two. Pacifica Kona Coffee Sugar Detox Body Scrub smells goooood–between the coffee (the caffeine is good for cellulite–it’s not curing it but it helps) and the coconut oil (leaves skin super supple and moisturized), I’m in love. I also picked up The Body Shop’s Sweet Lemon Body Scrub. High in antioxidants and Vitamin C, lemon seed oil also has great brightening properties. Even when you test a little of the scrub on your hand you’ll notice the glow it gives. The glow doesn’t last like say a lotion of body cream would (after all you do have to rinse it off), but over time you’ll notice a difference in your skin from regular exfoliation.
And that’s all she bought, folks. Oh—I did get a salmon burger from a place called The Open Door on John Street. I’m trying to work up a tolerance for eating salmon and figured I’d be able to at least start with a “burger”. Boy does salmon have an acquired taste. :x
What did you do/buy this weekend?
