*whew* This weekend was AWESOME! The TWEET your FACE Off…a social network party I had on Saturday with Nasilele Photography was a hit! So many wonderful people came out to party, tweet, and win prizes from event sponsors Luminess Air, The Organic Pharmacy, Fashion Fair, Tweezerman, and Supercuts.
I mean I could honestly cry from being overwhelmed by so much love and support from the attendees. Many fellow bloggers came out to support (check out recaps from Cosmetically Challenged, Sherry Blossom, and The World According to the DSB). If you attended and blogged about the event, please leave your links in the comment section (don’t worry if it doesn’t show up already—my site usually makes me moderate comments with links, but I’ll go in and approve).
Guests were all treated to new bright lip looks courtesy of Sleek MakeUP applied by yours truly at the lip bar and then got ready for their closeup with professional portraits by Nasilele Photography. Biggest color choices of the night were O.M.G., Stiletto, Coral Reef, Papaya Punch (which my buddy Lipstick Fashion Mascara who graciously stepped in to help with the lip bar when things got a bit busy said is a great dupe for MAC Hibiscus lipstick), and Amped. You can see swatches of these and get info on where to buy here and here.
What got me the most verklempt though was the fact that long time reader Candice Nicole and her friends came out from the DMV area to Brooklyn for the event and Melody of Cosmetically Challenged and Sharontina of The Runway Times also made the trip out from Philly. And towards the end of the evening, so many ladies came up to me and said how much fun they had and how many great new people they met. If you want to check out what people thought in real time, check out the TweetyaFaceOff Twitter page as well as search through hashtag #nasphoto.
You can see more pics at The Style and Beauty Doctor Facebook page. I didn’t get many pics because I was so busy at the lip bar and chatting away with guests that I totally forgot about pictures…lol. But Nas’ intern took some candids of the event so the second they’re edited and up for viewing, I’ll let you know.

Now onto what I bought…Friday afternoon I headed out to a bunch of beauty supply stores with my partner in crime Carmen of Lipstick Fashion Mascara in search of a wig. Now I’ve never worn a wig before and always assumed it just wasn’t something for someone as clumsy as me (what if I tripped somehow and it popped off my head?), but after seeing so many people rave about Vanessa’s LA Jay wig (a curly textured wig that can be brushed out for more of a kinky look), I knew I had to get it. So I got that and also while at Walgreens I picked up Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Bronzer in Rum Spice. OMG–this bronzer is soooo pretty. It’s a soft bronzy-gold with shimmer that serves as a bronzer for lighter skin tones and a highlighter for darker ones. It was only $5.49 at the Walgreens I got it from (which means everywhere outside of NYC it’s probably like $3.99), but it had an instant $1 off coupon on it so I got it for under $5. I’ll post a review up with pics later in the week. Black Radiance is definitely a brand to check out if you like good quality makeup without blowing your budget. Even if you aren’t a woman of color you still need to check out their color products—the blush, bronzer, lipstick, and eyeshadows have amazing pigmentation.
But that’s that! Were you at the TWEET your FACE off this weekend? Did you have fun? If you weren’t able to stop by, what did you do/buy this weekend?
