Running to and from shows during NYFW can be exhausting, but then there’s shows like Duro Olowu’s Spring 2012 presentation that just perks you right up. The Nigerian native provided the shot of caffeine I needed through his use of bold colors and prints. And how cute are the models—each using not just their stunning bone structure and to-die-for cheekbones but also their personalities to show off the designs.

Spotted at the show–Anna Wintour who cleared the room when she chatted with the designer and viewed the collection, the legendary model, activist, and Editor at Large at Vogue Black Bethann Hardison, famed fashion designer Stephen Burrows, Constance White, newly minted Essence Editor in Chief, and singer, DJ, and fashionista Solange Knowles. My bud Christina of Love Brown Sugar and Solange said hello to each other and next thing I knew I was shaking Solange Knowles’ hand and introducing myself. She even told me I’m beautiful! Ahhhh. I. LOVE. ME. SOME. SOLANGE. Always did and naturally even more now…lol.
