After Fashion Week, client appointments, and catching a little cold, I’ve been running like a mad woman the last three weeks and I LOVE it but I needed a bit of relaxation. Thankfully the folks over at Spa Week comped a visit for me to try out a treatment of my choice in a Spa Week participating salon in NYC. I chose the Lipomassage, a non-surgical, non-evasive treatment that over time helps smooth and contour the body, at Smooth Synergy Cosmedical Spa located at 686 Lexington Ave. 3rd Floor in the heart of Manhattan.

I moseyed on down there on Wednesday (and on my way in tried to see if I could catch a glimpse of Obama as he was in town at the UN…lol). After I filled out my paperwork and had a little chat with Smooth Synergy’s owner, I was whisked away into a private room where I disrobed and slipped into a suit that looked like a long onesie…lol. When the technician came back, she had a friendly convo with me about which areas I wanted to focus on. Though my tummy was a little flabby—I decided on my back fat and my outer thighs. If I lay off too many bad carbs, my stomach can be relatively flat. But my back fat though? DANGEROUS.

Smooth Synergy uses a state of the art machine that feels very similar to a vacuum’s suction as it glides over your trouble areas. At one point it also vibrates over the body and at that point I was knocked out COLD—it was soooo relaxing. I might have been so comfortable that it’s possible I might have drooled like a baby but that’s just between me and you, right? RIGHT!

While I did notice a little butt lift (the tech says that happens often but it’s very temporary…lol), Lipomassage is not the type of treatment where you should expect to go in as the Michelin Man and come out as Sofia Vergara.
