Get Beyoncé’s Post Baby Alice by Temperley Dress Look for Just $42

So the internet was all a buzz last night and today about the reemerging of Beyoncé one month after she gave birth to her first child. Lawd knows I love me some Beyoncé—she looks great—almost as if she never even gave birth. The Alice by Temperley dress (accessorized with Christian Louboutin pumps and an Alexander McQueen clutch) she’s wearing is THEE perfect dress for anyone wanting to camouflage any extra weight. Ladies, ruching is our friend. As are Spanx.

At any rate, The Style and Beauty Doctor reader Tiffany wrote in asking, “Hey Danielle, I love love love Beyonce post-baby dress she wore last night! I found the Alice by Temperley dress….but was wondering if you could offer some suggestions for a similar look for less?”

Hey Tiffany!

You’re going to look so HOT in this look. I found a $42 Bobi Modal Jersey L/S Ruched Front Dress at ShopBop.com that could help channel your inner Mama Bey:

Not only that, but I found some more options, some in different colors, but all under $100:

Go forth and be ruched!

Now, I know the people keep saying she looks like she never had a baby, but hips dont lie, or those tired eyes she’s attempting to pass off as sexy. She does look thicker than peanut butter in the freezer, and that dress (plus spanx) is definitely hiding some flaws. I like it, love actually, but would love it better in black.

Well, as someone who has never been small, ruching is a good friend to have as is a pair of high-waisted Spanx…I’m going to guess that Mrs. Carter is sporting a pair in that picture.

And honestly, people seem to be think that pregnancy turns women into whales when everyone I know winds up being more or less what they were before although I had one friend who did have an even more enviable bottom after she had her first baby…a drunk classmate at our college reunion told her she looked like a “Weapon of Mass Destruction”…and she never had to hit the gym to get her tiny waist back.

Most women don’t look like they ever had a baby once the baby comes out and the uterus shrinks. Apparently the uterus taking its time to return to normal pear size is what haves a lot of people looking paunchy for several weeks afterwards (one of my friends had over 16lbs of twins)…

Shoot, I hope I get that snap back when I have babies…lol. I only know a few women who went back to their pre baby body :/

I could be wrong but in my experience, esp. for black women, it usually results in your “assets” being more pronounced but the other parts go back to normal.

Body type definitely plays a role.

So a lot of my friends now look like they could have second careers in rap videos…but the skinny minnies are as skinny as ever.
