Estee Lauder Mad Men Collection Pics and Swatches

My door bell rang about thirty minutes ago and when I saw what the package was, I literally stopped everything I was doing to rip it open. As an overzealous eager fan of the collection just after learning about it only a few days ago, I couldn’t wait to see what the Creme Rouge in Evening Rose and the Lipstick in Cherry would look like and thankfully the brand’s PR sent it over so soon so I could share with you.

So first of all, if you love packaging you’ll appreciate the gold pouch each product comes in and then when you take that off, the metallic hardware that the products come in will also be a treat. Such great vintage detailing as seen on the popular TV show. The compact on the Creme Rouge has a button you press to open it. Too cute!

Evening Rose Creme Rouge ($40) is a rosy pink cream blush. Because it’s a cream, you can build up the intensity of the color by layering it to suit your skin tone (the darker your skin, the more layering for boldness). Perfect because it can work on just about every skin tone.

The lipstick in Cherry ($25) is creamy with shine (LOVE lipsticks that have a creme with shine finish) and is a bold deep corally blue-pink. I usually don’t reach for pinks (unless they’re pink-reds) on me personally, but this one is perfect for spring/summer (I’d wear it with smudgy black liner and bold cheeks). The lipstick is also smaller than usual lipsticks (.07 oz).

I’ll have more scoop on this about wear and my overall review in a few, so stay tuned!

The Estee Lauder Mad Men Collection debuts in March for a limited time only exclusively at Bloomingdale’s stores nationwide, www.bloomingdales.com and www.esteelauder.com.
