FN Platform at MAGIC: It’s All About the Shoes

For day one at MAGIC I spent a good amount of my time at FN Platform, a tradeshow that features over 1,500 new and emerging labels for men, women, juniors and children. Naturally my focus was on women brands.

In a nutshell, navigating through FN Platform is like being a kid in a HUGE candy store—I mean huge like on Willy Wonka levels. Every brand you can think of has a booth showcasing current season, spring, and fall 2012 styles. SHOE. OVERLOAD. But in a very good way.

I wasn’t able to get pictures of every brand, but definitely made my way first to Pour La Victoire and her little sister brand Kelsi Dagger because I’m a fan of both the style and price point (Pour La Victoire shoes are priced under $300 while Kelsi Dagger are within the under $100 range). I snapped pics of a bunch of my faves and got to speak with the owner and designer himself David Giordano. He chatted on video about the inspiration behind his recent designs. Check it out…

Then the funky designs of B by Aperire caught my eye. B by Aperire is a Los Angeles-based brand designed by Hiromi Tatsuta who studied graphic design and anatomically based shoe design in her native Japan. Check out a few of her designs:

I also stopped by Juicy Couture whose upcoming fall season packs some interesting surprises…

And by Dani Black

And Belle by Sigerson Morrison

:)

Seriously, this is just a snippet at what I saw at FN Platform. There were some Diane von Furstenberg fall 2012 shoes that I MUST HAVE, but unfortunately wasn’t allowed to take pictures. Trust me though, they’re hotttt.

Today I’ll be focusing on clothing and will again be microblogging, so be sure to follow my updates on Twitter and Tumblr :)

What do you think of the shoes?

      Hey Rich!

I’d check the MAGIC site for that because it could change from what I experienced in February. I stayed at the Hard Rock and remember my shuttle going to the Mandalay Bay as well, but there are about 6 shuttle routes.
