We Have Less than 2 Months to Get Rid of Bacne Before Summer!

Folks, this is not a drill. This is the real thing. Summer is almost here (yes, spring just began but work with me) and with that comes exposed skin. We have time to get rid of unsightly bacne (body acne), but we have to be diligent, consistent, and persistent. We will NOT be skipping perfectly stylish halter tops this season. Nope. We have a plan. Here’s five products to consider for your stash to give bacne the pink slip…

1. Clarisonic Plus Body Brush and the NEW Body Brush Extension Handle. What better reason to have a Clarisonic Plus? Not only do all the Clarisonic brush heads fit on this model, but it’s also the only Clarisonic that the Body Brush works with. (For the record, the Clarisonic Mia and Mia 2 are excellent for travel). Anyway, the Body Brush is great for prepping the body for shaving, self-tanning, and like other brush heads, helps get your skin 6x more clean than manual cleansing.

But here’s the genius. Unless you had super long and flexible arms, how easy was it to get your Clarisonic Plus to reach the very middle of your back? So now the company has a new Body Brush Extension Handle that makes it SUPER easy to get your Plus to attack hard to reach areas.

(I received press samples from Clarisonic)

2. Proactiv 3-Step Kit. This is more me trying to use up the ton of unopened products I have littered around the apartment. I forgot to cancel my Proactiv subscription, so an extra kit has been sitting untouched on my bookshelf. Might as well use her for the body, right? It contains acne fighting 2% benzoyl peroxide and I’ll be using it along with my Plus.

Alternatively, I’d use an acne body wash like Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash (salicylic acid) along with my Peter Thomas Roth Acne Spot and Area Treatment (Sulfur 5% acne treatment with glycolic acid complex 4%, trikenol™* 1%, aloe vera, allantoin, botanical extracts, vitamins C & E, & pro vitamin B5).

3. The Organic Pharmacy Virgin Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Serum. I learned about this wonder product from my pal Abby at New London Pharmacy. She told me it’s excellent for fading scars (acne scars, too!) as well as helps reverse sun damage and prevent wrinkles. One of her cashiers had some severe discoloration on her face and after about a year of use, it’s basically all gone. I’ll be slathering this on my hyperpigmentation plagued décolleté. Check it out HERE.

4. 3 Lab Super “H” Serum. OK, so this doesn’t have to do with bacne per se, but what’s the sense in having clear skin and turkey neck? Right. I received this serum from the brand’s PR which contains powerful antioxidants that help to give firmness to the face, neck, and décolleté, minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, diminishes and reverses the effects of UV light on the skin, and reduces age spots for brighter, clearer skin. The only caveat—this stuff is pretty pricey for the average Jane.

I use to have REALLY bad backne! But then I ate right, lost a few pounds and it hasnt come back since. Good riddance! But I still had really bad facial acne (and tried every thing under the sun) til I found out I secrete ridiculous amount of sebum than most. Finacea and Duac saved my face!

I don’t have bacne but my right shoulder broke out HORRIBLY last summer when I had some hormonal issues. I thought I had come into contact with bed bugs at a hotel lol. It was HORRIBLE looking. And now I’m just trying to fade the marks that were left behind. :-(

Mannn I started working out and GOT bacne :( :( it is so gross, all the hyperpigmentatino. Seriously, no racer backs for me this summer. I have been using Mario Bedascu Acne Body wash to little improvement. I mostly want to get rid of the spots! I wish there was a definitive product to use.

I have tons of spots on my upper back and I want to use something stronger than the salycilic body wash (which worked OK). The thing is, I have two tattoos in/near that area and I don’t want to use a product that may accidentally fade them. Should I just spot-treat, then? Thanks!

      Hey Lauren!

Great question—I’m not well versed on tattoos, but I’d assume to just spot treat. If I find out more info, you’ll be the first to know ;)
