Last night, VH1 debuted its newest reality series “Hollywood Exes.” According to VH1.com, the show is a “docu-series that delves deep into the lives of a group of women who are separated from some of the most famous men in America. Simply put, these girls are starting over. They all divorced young and got married even younger so now is when they need each other’s backs the most. And from raising kids to starting up a new business…these women are ready to tackle a VERY busy year.” Andrea Kelly, Nicole Murphy, Jessica Canseco, Mayte Garcia, and Sheree Fletcher are all introduced to us in the series premiere.

Here’s a rundown of who these women are and what they’re about…

NICOLE MURPHY, THE HEAD HONCHO.

First impression: Nicole Murphy, Eddie Murphy’s former wife, acts as the anchoring point of the cast. She seems to have pre-existing with most, if not all, of the other women on the cast, and it is through her that the women form new relationships with each other. Nicole was giving me Avatar realness throughout the entire episode; she is such a stunning beauty, and she seems to have the personality to match. She always appears really poised and well spoken. As the season unfolds, I doubt we’ll see her at the center of any drama.

Her storyline: “Currently engaged to retired professional football player Michael Strahan, Nicole has been busy looking after her 5 kids… but with two of those kids already out of the house, she is ready to start focusing more on herself and restarting her modeling career. The big question though is, after two years of being engaged, why hasn’t she set a date yet?”

SHEREE FLETCHER, THE CONSERVATIVE ONE.

First impression: Sheree Fletcher is the first wife of Hollywood megastar Will Smith. Sheree is currently married to a preacher, and she takes her duties as the preacher’s wife very seriously. At a dinner with her castmates, Sheree pretty much forces the rest of the girls to say grace before digging in. Though she does seem kind and levelheaded, I think Sheree will find it difficult to balance being a preacher’s wife on this reality show.

Her storyline: “Sheree and Will have a son together but since he turned 18, the child support checks have stopped coming in…making life a bit less cushy than she’s used to. Remarried to former professional football player-turned-pastor Terrell Fletcher, Sheree is now the First Lady of her new husband’s Multi-Cultural Christian Ministry. Don’t let the religious stuff fool you though. Sheree is NOT afraid of confrontation and if she doesn’t like something, she makes no secret about it.”

JESSICA CANSECO, THE WILD ONE.

First impression: Jessica Canseco is the ex-wife of Major League Baseball pariah Jose Canseco. She has a very fun, young, and unfiltered personality. In the first episode, Jessica allows the cameras into the room during a vaginal rejuvenation procedure and speaks openly about how steroids didn’t make her ex big everywhere…if you catch my drift. I already see Jessica at odds with Sheree, who has already said, “Jessica needs Jesus.” I think Jessica would much prefer a drink.

Her storyline: “Newly single, and already ready to mingle … Jessica is the life of the party, lighting up any room she occupies with her drop-dead gorgeous looks and her effervescent personality. Jessica is extremely busy, between running her cosmetic and medical tattooing business in Beverly Hills and raising her fifteen-year-old daughter with Jose. She is currently struggling to be more of a ‘mom’ and less of a ‘best friend’ to her teen.”

ANDREA KELLY, THE ONE IN TRANSITION.

First impressions: Andrea Kelly is the ex-wife of R&B laughing stock R. Kelly. Andrea’s move to Los Angeles to join the cast of “Hollywood Exes” is symbolic of a period of transition and progress in her life. Though she is divorced from one of the most controversial singers of our time, Andrea seems high-spirited and fun-loving, and her edges are always laid like fine linens. (Perhaps there’s a Prostyl endorsement in her future?) She is full of one-liners and sass, and I can see her becoming a fan favorite as the season unfolds.

Her storyline: “Andrea is not what you would assume of a Hollywood leading lady…with her spitfire personality, she doesn’t hold back from keeping it real. Out of all the ladies, she is the freshest out of her relationship. While she is emotionally raw and still reeling from her divorce, she is ready to move on and begin a new chapter in her life.”

MAYTE GARCIA, THE LONELY ONE.

First impression: Mayte Garcia is Prince’s ex-wife. Though she has been divorced from the singer for over a decade, Mayte seems to still be reeling from her divorce. She has a house full of pets but what she’s really looking for is love of the human variety. Mayte seems almost desperate for a man. In the first episode, she invites a matchmaker into her home, only to be told that she should make sure to hide her purple house cleaner so as not to remind her suitors of her ex’s Purple Rain fame. Though desperate, Mayte won’t just date anyone; she made sure to say that she would rather “eat dog sh*t” than ever date Jessica’s ex, Jose Canseco.

Her storyline: “Since her divorce Mayte has remained unmarried, but she desperately wants a child and even ended an engagement with rocker Tommy Lee, who didn’t want to have any more children. Living with her Puerto Rican mother, 7 dogs, 2 cats and 4 birds, there is no shortage of life (or comedy) in her home, but she won’t be happy until she’s turned her guest room into a baby’s room … and her clock is ticking!”
