So You Bought Leather Pants, Here’s Some Ideas on How to Style Them!

A pair of leather (or vegan leather) pants is a must-have for any wardrobe no matter your size or shape. Why? Well because they can be dressed up or dressed down, they go with just about anything, and mostly because they look cool (*wink*). So if you bought a pair (or seriously considering) then here’s some ideas on how to style them.

1. Dressed down and layered.

The fastest way to look overdone or “costumey” is to be too literal with your outfits. For instance, you wouldn’t pair cowboy boots with a 10-gallon AND a western shirt because you’d basically look like Jessica Simpson in The Dukes of Hazard. So you also shouldn’t pair your leather pants with other obvious components (leather on leather can be tough to pull off unless you’re Rihanna in her “S&M” video). A more interesting outfit is one in which textures are mixed. I love denim and leather together! Plus when you pull on that cute dotted crewneck sweater over it and add the parka and check print scarf, you’ve got a really cool layered look.

2. Sleek and sophisticated.

See how the same pants went from casual to dressy? This is why I LOVE leather pants. Adding sleek separates like a peplum top, bouclé jacket, a statement coat, and a brilliant pop of color gives these pants a little uptown glamour.

3. Glam rock.

Of course there has to be some sort of rocker way to wear leather pants, I mean, they ARE leather pants! But instead of going with the obvious, add some elements of rocker (the tee, the fingerless gloves) with elements of glam (the faux fur, the chain clutch) to create the perfect fusion.
