Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Bronzing Veil is VERY Heavenly

There are high end beauty products that are nice and do the job, and then there’s Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. Every product I’ve ever tried from the brand which pays homage to its legendary namesake with every single stroke of blush, every flick of eyeshadow, and every sweep of foundation has always been an experience. You don’t simple wear Kevyn Aucoin, you experience it.

Such was the case with the Celestial Bronzing Veil in Tropical Nights which I received c/o of the brand’s PR. To simply call this “bronzer” is insulting. Instead we are to refer to it as a “Celestial Bronzing Veil” because when you experience it, it IS exactly like a celestial bronzing veil.

Kevyn Aucoin’s Celestial Bronzing Veil uses crystal pigments in bronze, gold and silver to give you a natural-looking glow.

And that it does. Open the palette and you’ll notice an ombré effect which allows you to customize your level of bronzing. Since I have darker skin, I mostly use this as a highlighter on top of my cheeks (the lighter colors on top and the deeper shades on the apples with blush on top to give my cheeks a sunkissed look). For lighter complexions you’ll find this to be a gorgeous bronzer (err—bronzing veil) that will give you a healthy, natural glow without any hint of orange. If you have fair skin look into the Tropical Days version of this product.

What I love most about this is that it gives a glow without being shimmery which is my favorite kind of glow. It’s a very Hollywood red carpet sort of glow–and also a very Australian or Brazilian beach model glow. It also lasts all day, too (although this could change on my oily skin come hot, humid NYC summer).

It’s super tough (for me at least) to properly photograph some highlighters, but you seriously need to check this out next time you’re at a counter to see for yourself. I promise it’s gorgeous :)

Bottom line: This is totally worth checking out. I mean, I know I’m a highlighter fiend, but this one is quite other worldly.
