Let’s Talk Tuesday: How Do You Handle Haters?
When I was in high school I absolutely hated having haters. I was one of those girls who always liked to have people like them. But as I matured and grew more confident, I realized that if you had “haters” you were doing something right. By the time I finished undergrad I had several pairs of hater-blocking sunglasses and the mindset to ignore all those who had something ill to say about me.
Negative Nancies emerge from their hiding places whenever you’re doing something wonderful. Because nothing wonderful is happening in their lives, they feel that they have the right to rain on your parade.
The hater squad’s recent target was our beloved Beyoncé. We’ve all heard about the whole lip-syncing incident that occurred at the Inauguration last week. Beyoncé’s detractors lashed out, some even called for President Obama’s resignation because the 16-time Grammy Award winner’s lip-syncing was “unpatriotic.”
But King Bey isn’t a rookie when it comes to dealing with naysayers. With the help of her Instagram she posted a picture that said it all…
Bey’s approach was subtle and right to the point. However we know she’s going to shut the peanut gallery down with her Superbowl halftime performance on Sunday.

I think the term “haters’ is really overused. It’s like people these days don’t want anyone who doesn’t agree with them or their choices to have an opinion. I’m not a Beyonce fan nor am I a Beyonce hater (I like a few of her songs) so I’m confused about the controversy surrounding her “singing” the National Anthem. I personally think it’s unprofessional for ANY singer to lip sync important performances (tours are another story), but I think the controversy surrounding this issue is way over-hyped. And I think she’s a big girl that doesn’t need other people to defend her.
Haters are your motivation. They let you know that you are doing better than them
I think that haters will always be present in your life, but the important thing is how you deal with their comments. Do not let them change the way you live your life.
Well haters gon’ hate and keep hatin, and the best way to deal with them in my opinion is just to piss them off even more but being 100% more better than them
Beyonce being the entertainer that she is, did not do less than amazing at the President’s Inauguration. I was among the crowd in D.C. that day and she had us all fooled! When I heard she lip-synced I said “Kudos”. Its better to work smarter, not harder. As an entertainer, she made the right move.
How I handle haters is simply creating new things in which causes them to hate even more. Haters are individuas who motivate me and keepsme going, but at the same time I feel that my success’ motivates haters as well. Like stated in the article, whenever someone hated on me it gave me insights that I was doing something right. What I see in a hater is a reflection of me being lazy to succeeed and wishing I was somone else. In this world we live in it is true that compeition is everything therefore you want to shine above others. I think those who hated on Beyonce wish they were in her shoes having the oppurtunity to not only sing at the inauguration, but sit VIP a few feet from the president. I love my haters because they keep me striving for greatness!
No matter what you do, bad or good, people are always gonna have something to say about it. Just remember this: If people always have something to say about your life, that’s saying little about their own. Keep your head up, stay strong, and just breathe. Live. If you needed some encouragement today, this is it. So don’t waste it. Pass it on, spread it, but most importantly believe it.
Haters will be haters. We can’t let them talk down and affect our lives. If they hate, let them and continue with our business.
There must be haters all around us.
