Milani Cosmetics is making over their Color Perfect Lipstick line and calling it Color Statement. Key differences are in the design of the packaging, the scent (which smells like Jolly Ranchers), and the shape of the actual lipstick. Last week we went over some reds and oranges, now it’s time for pinks!
09 Pink Frost is a soft baby pink with a metallic finish. This would be great for those with fair skin and would work more as a layering lipstick for everyone else.
11 Fruit Punch is a cream finish Barbie/Nicki Minaj sort of pink. It’s the sort of shade that can work on a variety of skin tones but you definitely have to be a pink girl to rock it. You could tone it down with a deeper plum to make it more wearable.
12 Flamingo Rose is a cream finish fuchsia that would also work on a variety of skin tones if you’re a bold pink kind of girl.
14 Rose Hip is a cream bold pink that has a purple undertone to it. This would suit those with cool undertones the most.
15 Hot Pink Rage is a matte pink similar in color to Rose Hip. It’s also a great color for those with cooler undertones.
16 Flirty Fuchsia is a vinyl (cream with shine) that is a pinky red almost berry color. Though it tends to run pretty cool, it’s a color that works well on most skin tones and is my FAVORITE kind of pink.
33 Rose Amour is a cream bright warm pink that reminds me of a toned down MAC Candy Yum Yum. It would suit those with warmer undertones best.
Then we have Color Statement Lipliner in 04 All Natural (a pinky brown) and 05 Haute Pink (a bold medium pink). Both are cream finishes and they glide easily on the lips to either use as a base to ensure your lip color lasts longer or to line your lips.
Bottom line: These have great color payoff and are long-lasting (along the lengths of department store lipsticks) and definitely worth a look if you’re looking for new bright lip color at the drugstore.
