So for years—a little over ten actually, I’ve been using Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer (not continuously). I loved it because it sinks into my skin immediately with no residue so it doesn’t feel heavy on my oily skin. Depending on the weather I can sometimes get away with wearing it when it gets warmer out. I always wished though it had some SPF coverage in it although I would use a mineral SPF over my makeup.
Then fast forward to just about a week or so ago and Perricone sends over their new Photo Plasma which contains anti-aging ingredients and has an SPF of 30 to protect against both UVA and UVB rays. It’s oil-free and formulated with vitamin C ester and alpha lipoic acid to help brighten the skin over time. The formula is lightweight, gives the skin a radiant dewy finish, and is also said to act like a natural primer to keep makeup in place.
I like that it’s lightweight but on my skin—much like many with darker skin, the titanium dioxide does give off an “ashy” cast BUT within a few minutes it goes away. I can vouch for it acting as a natural primer as my makeup looked great even on one of the 80+ degree days in NYC. The dewy glow is really nice but can be a bit much for oily skin like mine—I’ll appreciate it more when it’s not so hot out.
Bottom line: Overall I do like Photo Plasma. If you have normal to drier skin, you may love this as your summer moisturizer. For darker skin, be sure to give it a chance to settle before you judge…lol. It’s okay for oily skin as I mentioned above, but you may want to file this as something to try when summer’s over.
