IMAN Cosmetics practically kicked the door WIDE open when they launched their BB Creme last year. I declared it one of the best BB Cremes out there because it not only had shades for darker skin like mine, but it also didn’t make me feel like a grease ball like most BB creams seem to do and it covered pretty well. Now for spring the brand is launching a line of powder to creme concealers and sent them over for review consideration.

CC Correct & Cover Powder to Crème Concealer
This unique spot concealer starts as a velvet-textured powder that dissolves into a hydrating, soft-focus, line-filling, concealing crème upon application. Featuring the benefits of an active botanical complex with vitamins and nutrients that even out skin imperfections such as under-eye darkness, blemishes, and hyperpigmentation while conditioning the skin with essential oils.

If you’re unsure of your shade, IMAN has a shade finder on their website.

I use Earth Medium (I’m NW 45/47 for reference) to cover dark spots. I typically like to use a lighter shade to brighten my under eye area, but Clay Medium-Deep seemed a bit off.

These dispense from the container as a powder and then magically turn into creme once you press them into the skin with the accompanying makeup sponge as per the directions. Now it pains me to say I don’t love these after how much I loved the IMAN BB Creme, but I just don’t love ’em, ya know? I found that the packaging is a little cumbersome and messy—it seems to take so much product to get enough to cover an area—like I’m tapping out so much powder just to get a little bit of creme meanwhile I feel like I’m wasting product. And then with that I felt like I wasn’t getting much coverage. I thought it was me so I asked for clarification or best practices from the brand and was told to try using my finger or a foundation brush instead since obviously a sponge can absorb too much product and was told to dab the product into the skin as opposed to smearing it. That definitely worked MUCH better and I got better coverage, but I still felt like it was a messy process with the way the product is dispensed. Perhaps if this were in a compact and were just a true creme? Or the powder could still work in a compact and then I could dab it from the compact onto my skin as opposed to dispensing it from the little sifter bottles.

Of course everyone does things differently so your experience may differ from mine, but I felt the packaging could be altered to prevent less mess. *Tyra Banks voice* I’m rooting for you, IMAN CC.

Price and where to buy: $15 each at Walgreens.

LMAO! “I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU!”

Thanks for this review! Before I even read it, I was thinking that it was weird for the powder to be packaged this way. I’m usually in a rush when I do my makeup before work… *insert Sweet Brown’s famous line here*

LMAO! I really hope they come out with different packaging—I was so happy with the IMAN BB Creme that this just makes me sad that I’m not in love with these.
