I’m baaaaack! My mini hiatus is over (meanwhile I posted twice during smh) and I learned that I need to take them more often. My next feat would be to try and take a break from all the different hats I wear at the same time so I really can feel like I had vacay. But alas, I’m back and with an outfit post to boot ;)
I love clothes but outfit posts can be hard to come by because 1. posing for pictures can be a blow on the ego (um. how many takes and I still ain’t get it right? lol) 2. my schedule doesn’t always allow me to take the time to have my photographer friend Nas shoot me 3. I can get over taking pictures VERY easily and sometimes don’t make it to outfit #2…lol and 4. I’m extra as heck and put too much thought into stuff like this…lol. But I wanted to do a themed post because I really like the idea of things like “here’s three ways to wear this” or “I bought a bunch of skirts, here’s how I styled them” etc, etc. so here we go.
Let’s also not talk about how I’m OBSESSED with ASOS and how every single piece of clothing in this post is from the UK online retailer…lol.
I get makeup on just about everything yet I’m obsessed with all white looks. I loved the white ASOS dress I wore during Lucky FABB so I wanted a shorts version of it and this is what I came up with.
My current take on the skort trend. I actually bought a ton of skorts and wound up having to send all of them back but this one. I have to wear something that covers the back though because the way the skort is cut, it makes my booty look long and flat…lol.
This came about because I attended an event at the Milly store a few weeks ago (where I bought the bag in my first pic) and remembered how obsessed I was with a romper they had from last season. It’s on sale now online, but it’s final sale and I wasn’t sure if it would fit and it was too still too much money to lose if it didn’t (and I’m notoriously slow with reselling clothes). So I figured ASOS HAD to have something similar and they did! I LOVE the way this fits—I went up a size because I didn’t want the fit to be too close (and have all my rolls showing…lol) and when I come down in size, I’ll have to get it altered because I’m not giving up on it ever…lol.
I’m obsessed with all three looks and don’t be surprised if you see me in any one of them often. I’m SO not the “I won’t be seen in this outfit again” type—I buy stuff I like so much I’ll want to wear it over and over :)
Also, can we get into the fact that ASOS now does ASOS Tall? For now there’s only about 3 or 4 pages of stuff, but I’m excited about skirts that don’t reach scandalous lengths on me and shirts where my wrists can be great. Ohhh and boyfriend jeans—for the life of me I can never get over how many brands make cool boyfriend jeans but then make them ankle length which on me might as well be long shorts (smh) but ASOS Tall has boyfriend jeans! I missed out on the pair they have now because my size is sold out but the fact that they’re there makes my heart flourish :D The kimono top I’m wearing is a true 3/4 sleeve on my 5’9″ frame—it was a little too big but I made it work for the pics by cinching it in the back.

Thanks, Andrea! Either gladiator boots or just gladiator sandal (although gladiator sandal will yield both long and short version results…lol)
Any time we shoot there’s always some really annoying dudes who stop their cars or make really loud obnoxious noises to which I of course ignore because I’m a professional…lol. Just kidding. But no, I do ignore them. Especially when some amateur comes up to Nas to tell her how to shoot like she doesn’t have her own studio SMH. Only because we’re women. But today is not the day for me to go off on my feminist rants…lol.
Also love the lip color in two and three. Where can I find them in your stash?
