Urban Decay sent over their latest—the Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette—over for review consideration and here I am with a super quick review. Sometimes there isn’t a ton to say about a product and I can run it down in a few short paragraphs. This is one of those times…lol.

I’ve been a fan of the brand since I was like 16 but in the last year or so I was kinda on the fence and now I’m slowly creeping my way back. They have AMAZING shadows and that Perversion 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil is boss. Anytime there’s a 20% friends and family sale, I buy like five of them…lol.

ANYWAY, Urban Decay Vice 4.

So if you’ve mostly been a Naked Palette kinda Urban Decay girl, this one may shock you a bit. But if you’ve been down with the brand for quite some time this is pretty signature UD. The packaging is AMAZING—it even comes with a cute zippered pouch and the casing of the actual palette is really durable (I know because my clumsy self dropped it and nothing broke…lol).

urban decay vice 4 palette colors

There’s 20 shades—most of which are accent colors with shimmer finishes. This is not the palette you get if you’re looking for neutrals. The colors inside don’t seem to have any particular kind of theme other than “let’s put all the bright shades in here and add like four neutrals.” Color payoff and pigmentation is amazing (at first I found them a little hard to pickup from the palette but that must have been some weird overlay thing because after swatching they all glide on so easily like butter). The mattes are all smooth and pigmented and the shimmer shades give you full-on color and not just a shimmery mess like some shadows do.

I tested these without a primer and even after six hours I had not a single crease or budge. The only thing that would be stopping you from getting it is whether or not you can actually realistically see yourself using a majority of these shades. I feel like it would just sit on your vanity if you’re a sometime-y colorful eyeshadow user. If you like individual shades, you might be better off finding dupes from the single shadow lineup and making your own little palette (all 20 shades in Vice 4 are new). Or if you’re on a budget, I like Sleek MakeUP or NYX Cosmetics palettes to have colorful eyeshadow palettes on standby.

Didn’t I say this would be quick?!?! SMH lol

Bottom line: Great quality—SO much pigmentation and pretty colors—get it if you’ll use a majority of the shades. If not, pass.
