My Red Dress Collection Experience (Pics + Show Recap)

I had an amazing opportunity this season to work with Go Red for Women and Macy’s to tweet live during the Red Dress Collection pre-show red carpet and during the show. My homey Ty from Gorgeous in Grey was alongside me doing a live Periscope broadcast (which you can watch here if you missed it).

There are many shows to look forward to during New York Fashion Week, but among the favorites for many is the Red Dress Collection in partnership with Macy’s and Go Red for Women. It’s an exciting show because so many of our favorite celebs hit the Red Dress Collection runway to strut their stuff for an amazing cause—making heart disease and stroke a thing of the past for women.

Honestly, words can’t even express how amazing this was. Not only was I part of an amazing cause that empowers women to take control of their well-being and make better choices that have a positive impact on our health, but I got to be in the same room with many of my celebrity favorites like Monica, Skylar Diggins, Misty Copeland, Fran Drescher, Marilu Henner, Florence Henderson, and so many more. It was SO amazing. Check out my tweets along with behind the scenes pics and video here.

But obviously it’s not all about the gorgeous celebs. Founded by The Heart Truth®, the event reminds women that heart diseases and stroke cause 1 in 3 women’s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. In fact, an estimated 44 million women in the U.S. are affected by cardiovascular diseases. The good news is 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. So get informed about the risks of heart disease and stroke and schedule a Well-Woman Visit. Invest an hour in your life to save the rest. You can learn more about the Red Dress Collection here.
