I recently received the new spring shades of Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks for review consideration. I was (and probably still am, but you know how it is when you love a lot of lip colors) a HUGE Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Fiery, a gorgeous blue-red. These like other liquid lipsticks goes on like a gloss but dries down to a velvet-y matte finish.

It’s been some time since I wore a Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (again, when you love a lot of lip colors it’s VERY hard to stick to one) and perhaps there was a formula change (although I don’t remember anything bad about the previous formula I tried) but these are SOOOOOOOOOOO smooth. They didn’t feel drying at all—even after hours of wear. Wear was great, too—I was able to get through a day of eating, drinking, and running my mouth without needing much touching up. That can vary with wearer of course—I can see if I was eating something oily or very warm like soup that could cause me to need to touch-up right after. But these just might be some of the best liquid lipsticks *I’ve* tried. You can see more liquid lipstick reviews here.

My favorite color is Bacca and but I also like Chianti and Ricco. You guys know how I feel about light beige/pink lip colors (no, thanks) so I didn’t love Baci and Caramello on me though they are pretty colors—just not for me at all. And no, I’m not adding a brown liner and gloss on top to make it work…lol. I already have tons of nude lip colors that look amazing right out of the tube to be doing all of that.

(these are my descriptions of the colors)

I LOVE that with Stila’s spring collection they paired these matte lip colors with their Aqua Glow Serum Foundation. I LOOOOOVE when makeup looks have some level of contrast in texture so a luminous finish foundation like the Aqua Glow Serum Foundation (review coming soon) paired with the matte Liquid Lipsticks is just soooo gorgeous. It’s always great to create balance in your makeup looks—I’ll talk about this more in depth in a future blog post.

Video:

I filmed a spring makeup tutorial the same day I shot these swatches (hey, gotta get as much in as you can at once…lol) where I was using a lot of products for the very first time. So for instance my highlight looks a little off (to me) and is more of a cooler tone than I would normally use (I prefer a more golden undertone with my highlight–read more about that here). I also swatched over 20 lip colors that day so I kinda goofed on swatching Chianti and didn’t notice until AFTER I got the footage and yeah, I wasn’t putting my makeup back on to shoot it over…lol). The images above are actually screenshots from the video.

Also some of the colors would look better with a few makeup tweaks but again, I was filming a bunch of things all on the same day so I would have been tweaking A LOT. Stay tuned for the video on the makeup look to come out soon.

Bottom line: I LOVE the formula of these Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks. Whether or not you need one of these depends on your color preference and what you already have in your stash. Like I mentioned earlier though, these are some of the best liquid lipsticks I’ve ever tried.
