NARS finally has a foundation stick! I remember my first ever NARS purchase (which was also my first ever Sephora purchase) back around 2001. I waltzed into what was then a brand new Sephora (and only like the second store to open in the U.S. at the time) at Roosevelt Field mall during one of the blocks of my school day where I didn’t have class (I attended nearby Hofstra University). My purchase consisted of Outlaw blush and an eyeshadow duo that has since been discontinued. After that I had been a huge fan of the brand accumulating almost every blush shade that flattered my skin tone (and some for my kit back when I was a makeup artist), a ton of eyeshadow duos, Multiples, lip colors, and more. Through blogging I’ve tested a number of NARS foundations and it was so amazing to hear the brand finally has a foundation stick. But of course this is NARS so it’s not simply a foundation stick, but the NARS Velvet Matte Foundation Stick.
TSABD Edit is normally reserved for Tuesdays, but like I’ve mentioned in a few previous Edits, it’s summer so I’ve been leanT back when it comes to content AND I’ve also gotten quite an influx of products in that I didn’t want to wait a week in between to post, so here we are. I’m going to post another one tomorrow so stay tuned…lol.
My TSABD Edit schedule is a bit off during summer because I like to “vacay” a bit (plus internet traffic goes down during summer anyway) so while I typically like to post these on Tuesdays, here we are on a Monday :) Plus I have a bunch of new products that came my way so you might actually see another one of these this week. Make sure you’re subscribed to the blog so you get an email when new posts are up.
I consider it a good beauty day when a drugstore brand comes out with a product that is SUPER similar to one I love at the department store. I mean, I’m practically L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer‘s #1 fan because it’s SO MUCH like department store brow pencils (the ones that have the mechanical pencil on one end and a spooly on the other) and at $8 vs $20, I don’t need to tell you anything else. I am someone who does value quality and convenience over price so I will of course go for the better product even if it comes with a heftier price tag. I’m not about to have to apply something with a heavy hand and add to it to get it to work like its pricier counterpart. Mama ain’t got that kind of time.
So this is a bit of a different kind of TSABD Edit. Normally I’d review a bunch of products that just came in, show you swatches, do a video demo, etc. This time around I’m talking about a bunch of beauty products I’ve finished. Now I’m testing this out—I’m not sure how effective a post of this nature would be (you’ll have to tell me if it helps you or not—be honest). Just because I didn’t finish a product doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. I am a recovering beauty junkie so I would buy a LOT of stuff because I lacked self-control (haha) and I also get a ton of product in from brands so there are products that are amazing but that I don’t get around to finishing because either it’s not something I need to use daily or because I have a gazillion others like it.
In “OMG F-I-N-A-L-L-Y” news, NARS has entered the liquid lipstick world. Except of course a name like “liquid lipstick” isn’t enough of a name for a brand like NARS. Nah. NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment is definitely more fitting.
