After feeling like I’ve tried every mascara on every publication’s “must have” list, the kind lady helping me at Sephora suggested I try Lancome Hypnôse Drama and I did (I can be an easy sale sometimes…lol). Lancome’s popular mascara promises:

And while I did get a lot of volume and length without any clumping with this mascara (and my lashes looked fabulous), I also got the same effect with Rimmel Glam’ Eyes Ultra Volume High Definition Mascara which is only a fraction of Hypnôse’s price. But if spending excess money on mascara is your thing then grab a tube of Lancome Hypnôse Drama for $24.50 at Sephora. Otherwise snag a tube of Rimmel Glam’ Eyes which ranges in price from $5.74 to $7.49.

Beyoncé is on this month’s issue of Allure magazine and she is giving face, body, hair, EVERYTHING! The glow of her skin is so great, I set my magazine on the floor in a dark room and had instant illumination. Banish dry, dull winter skin and snag Beyoncé’s gorgeous bronzy look with these steps:

1. Get rid of body hair. I know how comfy and carefree it feels to not shave your legs in the winter because you wear pants all season long, but to pull off a look like this you have to nix the Chewbacca tendencies. If you shave, try a soothing shave gel like Avon Skin So Soft Fresh & Smooth Silky Stay Shave Gel.

2. Gently exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead skin cells and allow your inner glow to shine through. Exfoliators to try: LUSH Sandstone Soap, The Body Shop Africa Spa Salt Scrub, or Caress Evenly Gorgeous Body Wash.

3. Get the glow. Rub some bronzy lotion into your skin to get Bey’s glow. Products to try: Scott Barnes Body Bling or NARS Body Glow. If you’re on a budget, try mixing some of your bronzer with Vaseline Cocoa Butter Vitalizing Gel Body Oil for a similar look.

I came across this gem while browsing the makeup aisles at Target. The bright colors really caught my eye (it comes in 12 shades), especially the bright fuchsia pink of shade Arresting. But what probably was more arresting was the $11.99 price tag! For just a few dollars more, you could get a MAC Lipglass! Sheesh.

But L’Oreal Shine Struck Liquid Lip Color is a great product. It smells like cappuccino, isn’t sticky, and is vibrant in color. I would suggest waiting for this to go on sale because $11.99 for a drugstore product makes my heart jump.

Black Radiance Complexion Perfection Foundation is surely not perfect–it only comes in like four shades, but if you just so happen to be one of those four shades AND don’t require a ton of coverage, you’re in luck. Sort of. You’ll get a nice, sheer coverage that helps to even out your skin tone and minimize the appearance of imperfections (if you don’t have many to begin with). I set it with Becca Fine Loose Finishing Powder (it’s all about the high/low concept) and really liked how my skin looked. The smell is a little off though—a bit “mediciney” for my tastes. I got it for $6.87 at Walmart. Not a bad foundation given the price.
