Trying a Ton of Beauty Supply Store Makeup for the First Time on Camera

Beauty supply store makeup has come a LONG way especially since I was a teen. Nowadays you can find a wide range of shades for darker skin tones AND many beauty supply stores are now equipped with testers making them much easier to shop than some drugstores. I’ve reviewed tons of makeup you can find at the beauty supply store (L.A. Girl, NYX Cosmetics—yep, NYX is sold at a lot of the beauty supply stores near me, etc), but I wanted to try a few things I’d never tried before and had this crazy idea to do it all on camera for the first time…lol. It was—interesting…lol. See for yourself in the video below!

Don’t you just LOVE this time of year? I very much enjoy watching the red carpet looks at the Met Gala—the themes make it so much fun. One of my favorite looks from last night’s “fashion in the age of technology” theme was Ciara in a gorgeous halter top H&M dress. I also LOVED her makeup which was done by makeup artist extraordinare Yolonda Frederick using H&M beauty. The H&M team sent over the breakdown of the look—and it’s ALL affordably priced.

Balance is SUPER important. SUPER. In fashion balance is something like wearing skinny jeans because you’re wearing a voluminous top. Or a close-fitting top with wide leg pants. With makeup there’s SO much involved (i.e. finding the right foundation for your skin tone and type, switching formulas and shades as the seasons change, perfecting a winged liner, figuring out highlighting and contouring, etc.) that sometimes balance isn’t considered. But don’t forget balance, ya’ll!
