I typically only post ONE TSABD Edit a week on Tuesdays, but I’ve been summer vacaying (or at least trying to—I’ve still been working) and had a bit of a build-up on products that both came in and that I purchased myself, so I figured I might as well churn them out so I don’t have piles of makeup looking at me every time I walk into my office :x
TSABD Edit: BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette, Flirt Ombre Lip Kit & Jay Manuel 3D Illuminator on Dark Skin
LA Girl Cosmetics recently launched some new items (or at least they’re new to me) on their site and I decided to scoop them up out of my own curiosity and of course to review them here. I got LA Girl Pro Contour Cream in Medium-Deep and Deep; LA Girl Pro Counter Powder in Medium-Deep and Deep; and LA Girl Just Blushing in Just Love (a bright pink) and Just for Fun (a bright orange).
This post is a bit of a hybrid—part single product review, part guide. I also have a series on blush for dark skin that you can check out here. Also check out more blush swatches, reviews, and more here.
“Bronzers for dark skin?”
“But we’re already brown/bronze?”
“Why would I need bronzer?”
Many moons ago I, too, did not get the whole bronzer thing (well, I understood bronzer—just didn’t see it as for my skin tone), but back then not very many brands were making bronzers deep enough to make a difference on darker skin tones. But also many moons after that, I got my hands on some that did come deep enough and have been a bronzer fan since. I thought now would be an amazing time to do another bronzers for dark skin post because with it being winter and all, many of us can use a little extra glow.
NARS Cosmetics has been a brand that has always stood by not only diversity, but creating collections that transcend with every type of woman. So it’s no surprise that the brand’s latest collab with world-renown photographer Sarah Moon brings a unique approach to femininity and how we perceive beauty and individuality. Just in time for the holidays, the 25 piece collection is as dreamy as you can imagine. Inspired by the nostalgic futurism of the 1925 film Metropolis, François Nars and Moon joined creative forces to bring alive a line that is short from luxurious. The range of shades and formulas are true to the brand and the packaging looks like a work of art! Judging by the images, the colors are stunning and true to what fall/winter makeup should be – dark plums, rich reds and smoky eyes. Among the 25 pieces there are 10 gift sets – so there’s no excuse for you not to spoil your friends and family as well as yourself! It will be released exclusively on NARScosmetics.com and NARS boutiques on October 15th and on sephora.com and specialty stores on November 1st. Check out the full collection below.
