I’ve already gushed about my love for newly national Jones magazine, but after attending their warm, open-armed blogger sneak peak of their Fall 2010 issue at their offices in Manhattan’s Financial District, I am full out obsessed with it. Like, call security because I just might be a stalker. *gets dressed in all black*

Jones started as a regional magazine out of the Houston, Texas area by editor-in-chief Tracey Ferguson with a focus on a multi-cultural audience and has since catapulted into the national mag reigns. Want to know who the newest African-American designer is or the hottest African-Caribbean model to stomp down the runway? It’s in Jones. Or maybe you’re after the latest trends–the “it” shoe, the “it” bag—Jones has it. In fact they unapologetically love nice things. It’s basically fashion and product overload. Brace yourselves because the ride will be pretty—very pretty.

What I love most about Jones is the breathtakingly fabulous fashion and beauty spreads and the fact that they consciously want models–models of color at that–on their covers. I have already torn out half the mag to hang up on my bedroom wall like I’m 14…lol. Seriously, if the July 2008 Black Issue of Vogue Italia left you wanting more, move your mouse over to jonesmag.com and get thee a subscription STAT. For now be sure to grab their Fall issue debuting on newsstands nationwide this week.

Put some epaulets or cool buttons on a button-down shirt and I’m on board and officially obsessed! I love the look of a denim military shirt paired with anything from shorts to skinny jeans. My big sis may say I look like a security guard, but that’s only because she’s a middle child…lol.

Summer’s not even half-way in yet and I already have my Fall 2010 wishlist prepared. After carefully reviewing and editing the collections shown at NYFW back in February, I want:

Lace Inserts: I love how a classic wardrobe item like a cardigan or a pencil skirt looks with some lace inserts! So chic and so now.
Combat Boots: Doc Marten boots made a comeback last year and since 90s Grunge is making its way back, I’ll give a nod to the decade with some combat boots. Looks great with jeans and a tough vintage leather jacket. Add in a bold red lip for some flavor.
Faux Fur Vest: I’ll plop it on almost everything!
Major Platforms: Even though I’m 5’9″ flat footed—I love to stagger over 6 feet tall with a 5-inch platform heel. I love the way a platform helps to elongate the body and since they’re pretty level, they’re easier to walk in than other heels.
Anything Military: I just love the tailored looks and army green is one of my fave colors.
