Spring is here however spring temperatures are not. That’s actually not surprising at all in NYC. It’s spring for maybe like one week in late April/early May and then the weather seems to go straight to summer :/ I don’t mind much–gives me more time to wear my over the knee boots…lol.
I had an amazing opportunity this season to work with Go Red for Women and Macy’s to tweet live during the Red Dress Collection pre-show red carpet and during the show. My homey Ty from Gorgeous in Grey was alongside me doing a live Periscope broadcast (which you can watch here if you missed it).
I LOVE outlet shopping. Don’t you? I mean, I love any kind of shopping I can get, but when it comes to finding some really good deals at an outlet, it’s like getting an A+ on that test you didn’t study for…lol. I recently shopped Woodbury Common Premium Outlets (one of my FAVORITE outlets EVER) armed with some gift cards and a mission to find the best holiday gifts for the folks near and dear on my list. And if I found a thing or two (or three or ten) for myself, all the merrier.
Today Kohl’s announced that it will collaborate with MILLY by Michelle Smith, the daring and feminine designer for its next DesigNation limited edition collection. The collabo will debut at Kohl’s and Kohls.com in Spring 2015 and will feature a range of dresses, skirts and tops in custom prints and vibrant colors inspired by Capri’s luscious landscapes and dazzling blue sea. Retail prices for the collection will start at $38.
For the first time ever, designer Cynthia Rowley put together a full activewear collection where people can mix and match different pieces for different looks. And the cuteness that ensued is insurmountable. Particularly these five looks which you’ll want to wear over and over and over again…
Look, I know I say this for just about every designer mass market collaboration because of course all the styled lookbook pics look good, but I have faith that the Altuzarra for Target collection will be amazing. Back when I used to help dress models backstage at NYFW (talk about trying to keep your cool when Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, and Karlie Kloss are thisclose to you while you need to hurry up and get some unbelievably bitchy no-name model in her second look) one of the shows I worked was one of Altuzarra’s fall shows. And not only did Joseph Altuzarra whip by me, but ALT himself was in the same breathing space as me. Anna Wintour came right before the show started to preview the collection (it was a total The Devil Wears Prada moment when word spread she was coming) and walked right by me and smiled at me (because you know, I’m a beaming ray of sunshine…lol). But yes, because of that experience and the fact that Altuzarra makes some of the most amazing clothes and accessories I’ve laid eyes on, I have faith that the Target collab will be fab.
