LA Girl Cosmetics recently launched some new items (or at least they’re new to me) on their site and I decided to scoop them up out of my own curiosity and of course to review them here. I got LA Girl Pro Contour Cream in Medium-Deep and Deep; LA Girl Pro Counter Powder in Medium-Deep and Deep; and LA Girl Just Blushing in Just Love (a bright pink) and Just for Fun (a bright orange).
Color correctors can be awesome products, BUT do understand that most people likely don’t need them. There have been many advancements in concealer shades as well as improvements to full coverage foundation formulas (many are now SO much lighter in feel than their predecessors—check out the BECCA Ultimate Coverage foundation for instance) that many folks won’t have a need for a corrector in your makeup routine. But as someone who takes her job of testing beauty products VERY seriously (haha), I’m pretty open to being the guinea pig trying stuff and reporting back on my thoughts.
So liquid lipsticks have been the rage lately—you know, the ones that go on like a gloss but dry matte and have amazing staying power? Brands like Stila, NYX Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Sleek MakeUP, and many others came in on the liquid matte game and now LA Girl Cosmetics is in the arena with LA Girl Flat Finish Pigment Gloss.
So much makeup, so little time. I actually bought this a few weeks ago along with some other stuff I thought you guys might enjoy seeing a review on. But it’s summer and I’ve been attempting to have summer office hours…plus sometimes I forget some of this stuff is even here. SMH. But anyway, let’s talk about this LA Girl Ultra Eyeshadow Palette.
Look, I’m quite passionate about blush. I swear I start conversations with new people like “Hey, nice to meet you—do you like blush?” OK—maybe not that passionate but I do try to persuade more people to wear the stuff. It does wonders for brightening your face, adding dimension, and making you look like you slept for HOURS on end. Anytime new blush comes out, I’m looking for it in the daytime with a flashlight (like that line one time in that Usher song). The new LA Girl Beauty Brick Blush Collection? OMG—amazing.
I have to say I’m very impressed with L.A. Girl Cosmetics—so far virtually everything I’ve tried has been great and the prices certainly can’t be beat. Only catch is they aren’t as easily accessible in stores—I’m sure I could find places that sell it in this grand city of New York, but I just order online for my sanity…lol. Next up is the L.A. Girl Beauty Brick in Nudes which strikes quite the resemblance to Urban Decay Naked 3.
