A Tale of Three Nude-y NARS Glosses

nars reformulated nude glosses for dark skin

NARS recently reformulated their Lip Gloss line and sent over a few glosses for review. I vaguely remember what the old formula was like (I’m thinking it was a bit thick and a little too tacky—I don’t really remember), but the new formula glides on, isn’t sticky, and has a nice but not obnoxious shine. The shades I’ve tried (also see Priscilla here) work well on their own or work great as an added layer to your favorite lipstick.

Wear-wise these lasted about three hours and if your lips are dehydrated the glosses can leave that funny white film (make sure you exfoliate either with a lip scrub or a wet toothbrush and then use a primer or balm). But the colors are really pretty.

They look pretty similar in pics but the differences in the three are more apparent in person.

Bottom line: I love them—I’m not even a big gloss girl and actually really like wearing these. They make me want to get more. If you’re a NARSissist, you’d also love these in your stash. Also bear in mind that if your lips are naturally pigmented or you have two-toned lips, these may not show up “true” on you. You can find tricks on how to work around this here.

I’m a Nars lover and the glosses are cute, but my pigmented lips are gonna stick with the Milani glosses….gentler on the wallet.
