Though I’ve been known to wear red lips (mostly because I typically pick my lip color after I’ve left the house and I almost always have a red lipstick in my purse), I am actually a equal lip color opportunist. Shall no lip shade be left behind on my watch (unless it one of those super light “nudes,” keep those as far away from me as possible…lol). But as much as I love my bold matte shades, I also love a soft pink or coral and a pretty opaque gloss. And with spring right around the corner (*looks around the corner to see how close spring is*) let’s talk about four shades I’m loving from the NEW Revlon Ultra HD ™ Lip Lacquer and Revlon Ultra HD ™ Lipstick lines.
So first, let’s talk about how amazing the texture and finish on both the Revlon Ultra HD ™ Lip Lacquer and Revlon Ultra HD ™ Lipstick are. Revlon Ultra HD ™ Lipstick feels like a hybrid between a lipstick and a soothing, moisturizing balm—it’s almost gel like in texture but you get a semi-opaque finish with shine. Shade Rose is a pinky-coral while Peony is a medium pink–both colors that would work on a wide range of skin tones. I like to apply them by gliding the tube along my lips and then I take my index finger and blot it down so I get a “Oh, my lips are naturally this color” kind of look. The formula is super comfortable and wear is great not to mention they smell amazing.
Revlon Ultra HD ™ Lip Lacquer is another work of beauty. They’re super opaque and have a very workable shine. Shade Garnet is a gorgeous pinky magenta color while Smoky Topaz is a pinky nude with a teeny touch of a golden shimmer—again, both shades will work on a wide range of skin tones. I love that these are so opaque and yet not stick or gooey. The colors are pigmented and they wear like a dream.
I like to wear these lip colors straight out of their applicators with no other additions—no liner, no gloss, etc. but if you wanted to adjust the look you could of course do so. I also love that all four shades work seamlessly in just about any makeup look whether it’s something neutral in color or super bold.
Here’s how the shades look on me:
