Whitening Your Teeth with Activated Charcoal and/or Coconut Oil…

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Crest. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

In my head, I’m one of those people who makes their own beauty products at home from scratch. That’s because in my head I’m FAR less clumsy than I am in real life…lol. I’d seen and heard about the benefits of brushing with activated charcoal as well as coconut oil pulling, but I knew my limitations and high levels of clumsiness would not be a good match for any of that. But now Crest has two new toothpastes Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal and Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Coconut Oil that offer the same teeth-whitening benefits minus the mess.

Now, this might sound like a #humblebrag, but I have pretty white teeth—like dazzling white. I also had a bunch of cavities as a teen and young adult, so that brings me back down to earth. So I went into this more with the curiosity about what this charcoal and coconut oil brushing world was about in a much neater, perfect-for-Danielle kind of way. I was worried that the toothpastes would taste funny—like tree bark and “nature,” but was pleasantly surprised that they both taste like regular toothpaste—the charcoal one tasting more minty than the coconut oil one which has a soft vanilla mint taste.

I was also expecting the color of the charcoal toothpaste to be super dark—nope. There’s a swirl of grey in there along with the white that thankfully doesn’t stain the sink.

Using both I got a more sparkling look to my teeth (my natural enamel shade is pretty white, but I AM a coffee drinker), but best for me is that my mouth felt cleaner and fresher for longer which is particularly great for me as I plan on being out and about with the menfolk more once this warmer weather starts to hit.

And because I’m a total sucker for beauty aesthetics, I truly appreciate how beautiful these toothpaste tubes look.

If you want to give the new Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal and Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Coconut Oil a whirl along with your other fave Crest products, there’s a gift card deal going down at Target right now through 3/24/19. (I LOVE a good Target gift card deal!) Spend $20 on select beauty and personal care items (including Crest) and receive a $5 Target gift card. I usually use the gift cards from the deals to get something from the Who What Wear x Target collection. It’s basically win-win: brighter smile, cooler wardrobe ;)

Have you tried brushing with charcoal or coconut oil? Would you try these toothpastes? Tell me in the comments!
