South of France or South of Manhattan?

I AM OBSESSED WITH BEING OUT THIS SUMMER. Yes, it’s hot, yes, I’m sweaty, no, I don’t care. I just wanna be OUUUUUUUUT. This is what I endure winter in NYC for—to be out and about in this city in the summer and I have been getting my life. I’ve mentioned before that if any of my homies ask me to go out, I’m going. Typically I’d be overwhelmed with the thought of getting on the train to head into Manhattan and worrying about the LIRR schedule heading back home, but it’s HOT GIRL SUMMER. One needs to be the life of the party, be carefree, be OUT—who cares about getting home late?

I mean, I do have to take breaks in between all this being out because sis has a funny back and a trick knee. I also have to make sure that if I splurge on dining out, I cut back on something else to keep my budget from being funny like my back.

Anyway, I could not resist taking photos in this spot across from the RH Rooftop Restaurant in Meatpacking. I saw two of my other fashion blogger faves pose there (MsNerdyChica and Monroe Steele) and knew I had to have my own. This place almost looks like you could be in the South of France, but you’re really in the South of Manhattan…lol. Well not all the way south in Manhattan, but you get what I mean.

After shooting, Rose and I attempted to hit the RH Rooftop Restaurant for some brunch. We got there at 11:30 A.M. and were told there was already an hour wait. A girl I chatted up near the restroom said she was waiting on line for them to open at 11 A.M. and when she got in, they told her she’d get a table at 11:30 A.M. They don’t take reservations either and I swear I saw more tables open than people waiting. We surely didn’t want to wait an hour to eat, so we went around the corner to Fig + Olive and had lunch there. The crostini and the rosemary shrimp fettuccine were BOMB.
