A few weeks ago I got to experience cabi Scoop in Nashville at the Gaylord Opry Convention Center. You know the tremendous amount of energy that must have been in the room when Oprah gave away all those cars to the audience of teachers way back when? I swear cabi Scoop was a hundred thousand trillion times more intense than that!
cabi is a clothing company founded in 2002 by 12 women that is sold through over 3,000 independent stylists in the U.S., Canada, and the UK and online at cabionline.com. They make some BOMB clothes—every time I look at a piece I get more and more amazed–like wait a minute, THAT’S CUTE! The styling for their catalogs makes you want to buy every single piece—the quality of the clothing is amazing, too. I’m also in their fall 2019 campaign—more on that later ;)
cabi Scoop happens twice a year and it’s when the brand showcases their latest collection through one of the most energetic fashion shows I have ever seen. They had people singing live, the models danced, there was a comedian, there was good music—SUPER HIGH ENERGY MOOD.
I mean, I was sitting there screaming and clapping like I didn’t see all the fall clothing back in March when I was shooting the campaign (yes, more on that later).
You can check out the fall lineup NOW at cabionline.com.
Now another bomb thing about this trip? THERE WAS A HUGE BILLBOARD OF ME UP IN THE CONVENTION CENTER. I swear I have had many “wow, I think I made it” moments in this blogging life, but when an older Black lady came up to me and asked me if I was the girl in the pictures? I could’ve milly rocked all the way home I was so hyped at the way she smiled so hard at me…lol. Bey can have the Hive, I’ll take the Auntie Hive anyday…lol.
I didn’t have much time, but I was so thankful that Kenya (aka @halfietruths) scooped me up and showed me some Nashville highlights before I had to jet off to the airport. I had drinks at the L.A. Jackson rooftop, BOMB brunch at Biscuit Love, and GURL, the cupcakes from Black-owned shop The Cupcake Collection?!?! I can STILL taste them—they were SO good.
Anyway, there’s more to share about the cabi Fall 2019 campaign. I got some pieces in that I want to style and tell you more about me being a “real woman” model in the catalog. In the meantime, leave me a comment below—which pieces from the cabi Fall 2019 lineup do you have your eye on?
