See Which Products Made Ebony Magazine’s Best in Beauty 2012 List…

If you’re anything like me (and I kinda suspect you might be), the second a magazine comes out with a Best in Beauty list, you race to the newsstands to scour the issue for new favorites. This is exactly what I’ll be doing with the September issue of Ebony magazine the second it hits my mailbox. A jury of beauty experts including Amoy Pitters, Ursula Stephen, Lavette Slater, Merrell Hollis, Oslyn Holder, and the legend Reggie Wells deliberated over hundreds of products and came out with winners in nails, makeup, skincare, hair, and more. And thus the second annual (of which me and some of my blog buds were on the panel for the first ever last year) Ebony Beauty & Grooming Awards.

Some of my own tried and true favorites made the list: (hey, my blabbing about them hasn’t gone in vain)
Best Shine Reducer: Mally Beauty Ever Color Poreless Face Defender
Best Mascara (luxury buy): Yves Saint Laurent Faux Cils Shocking
Best Hair Extensions: Indique Natural Roots

Want to see the rest? Be sure to pick up the September issue of Ebony magazine. Sparkle stars Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter, and Carmen Ejogo are on the cover ;)

Yes, yes, yes, I love the best in beauty list. I definitely run to the newstands when they come out. I’m always on the hunt for the best beauty products, especially for women of color. I’m looking for a new foundation, so I’m excited to see Ebony’s pick for that. Thanks for this post. Now I’m off to buy the new Ebony. :-)

Monica – you should check out the new mineral liquid foundation from Fashion Fair – you can find it on fashionfair.com – lightweight and featured in EBONY’s fall trend watch in the Sept issue.
