OK—I’m back with the full scoop on the LORAC Pro Palette 2! I gave you a sneak peek into the second coming of LORAC’s uber popular Pro Palette (the first one is loved by the makeup artists on set at Scandal because it works well on so many skin tones and gives such great DC chic—it’s perfect for the show).

So about Pro Palette 2. The shadows are really rich in pigment which is always a plus. And while you should wear some sort of base underneath your shadows to get them to last longer (both Pro Palettes come with a deluxe sample of LORAC’s primer), they can stand alone for a few good hours without creasing. Another plus.

Also the shades mostly run neutral in undertone meaning they’re not too warm and not too cool toned. Another plus since this makes it wearable for virtually everyone. You can also get a good range of both day and night looks from this palette which—you guessed it—is another plus.

So how does it differ from the first Pro Palette? They’re both different enough to justify owning both but for my current style of makeup right now, I’m team Pro Palette 1 (which I wound up buying this weekend after LORAC sent the second one…lol). Pro Palette 1 has mostly “skin tone” nudes—and by that I mean there’s at least one shade that more than likely is close to your skin tone, one lighter than it, and one darker than it which is perfect for contouring and shaping the eyes. I almost always find a need for a good dark brown matte and soft matte neutrals and Pro Palette 1 has them all. The light matte nudes in Pro Palette 2 work as well—but these are more blushy and dove gray-type nudes…light pinks as opposed to fleshy-tones you see in Pro Palette 1. I also feel like you can get more dramatic looks with Pro Palette 2 thanks to the matte plum, navy, and shimmers in silver, green, and cocoa brown.

Bottom line: Both are really great palettes—high quality shadows and both have great ranges of colors to suit all skin tones. Whether or not you get one depends on the type of looks you prefer with your makeup (and even then you can still have both and justify doubling up…lol).

Based on these pictures, both palettes are really good and you can tell that the quality of the shadow is great. However, I think I really like pro palette 2.

I don’t have the pro palette 1 but after viewing your comparison. I like the lorac pro palette 2 for my skin tone. Thanks for your review.

Both palettes have their unique shades as too which I prefer, simple both! If I was to pick one up it would have to be both because they’re different in so many ways.

Yaaasss!!! Finally a review on it! I have Too Faced chocolate palette and even though I am fully satisfied with said palette, I kinda want to venture out. I would love the LP2 Sounds like this is down my lane.

They are both lovely palettes. I had to choose 1 palette because I could only afford 1. I went for the Pro 2 palette, mainly because It has more interesting colors. Pro 1 has shades I can find in other palettes. Thanks for these swatches. It was really helpful.
