5 Places to Stay in Grenada (You’ll Never Want to Leave!)

I think by now I’ve established to anyone who hasn’t been to Grenada in a long time or haven’t been ever (or for those of you who only heard of the island nation for the first time), that it is a magical place one should totally visit. I didn’t want to leave and I’m sure you can get a sense of why by reading my Grenada posts. But now let’s talk about where to stay once your plan lands into Maurice Bishop International Airport.

So like any destination, Grenada offers a myriad of accommodation options. For those of you who are of Grenadian descent you more than likely have family there more than happy to host you in their home. This is what we did. My dear friend and photographer Nas allowed us to stay at her grandmother’s gorgeous home for our trip. (Nas and I have been friends since college—we met Sophomore year in Spanish class—I don’t think I ever told her this but I’d known of her since Freshman year and never imagined I’d be cool enough to be her friend…lol. Then we hit it off in Spanish class and became next door dorm neighbors for two years and have been friends since and even thicker than thieves in the last few years since we work together to create content). If you can stay with friends or family in this lovely country, consider yourself blessed (and bless those people with some monetary offering…lol) because you can then focus your budget on tons of activities—I’m personally partial to water sports, hiking, and Soca parties but you can see more of what to do in Grenada here.

But if you don’t have friends or family in the country, no worries at all. There’s still more options. Most of Grenada’s tourist attractions are in the parish of St. George’s which is also the home of the country’s capital. In St. George’s you’ll find a ton of hotels and resorts to match your personality and budget. Of course there’s also guest houses you can rent for your trip—check out sites like Airbnb and Trip Advisor to see reviews. My girls and I stayed in a condo when we went to Barbados and it was SO much better than staying in a hotel (money-wise…lol) so consider them when traveling in groups.

We got a tour of a few hotels and resorts in St. George’s and even got to experience an overnight stay in one (that I’ll tell you all about in a separate post) and here’s a round-up of five places to stay in Grenada:

Radisson Grenada Grand Beach Resort

grenada

This 4-star property was formerly the Grenada Grand Beach Resort before it became part of the Radisson chain and is located right on Grand Anse beach. It’s a beautiful budget-friendly option that allows you to easily get to many attractions in Grenada. You can find pretty much everything you need here if you never want to leave the premises (although there’s 9 reasons why you NEED to explore).

See inside a beachfront room in this short video:

We spent some time here during the day as this is one of many properties that offers day passes. The drinks are really good and for a chain resort they have some REALLY good roti. Like mom’s roti fresh off the stove with the perfect curry. It’s good to see that the resort still keeps the flavor and spice that is very much Grenada.

Laluna Villa Estate

One word comes to mind when I think of this beautiful tucked away resort: zen. From the beautiful beach views to the decor, this place just screams relaxation—except it wouldn’t scream because that’s not relaxing…lol. If you prefer to have a beach home away from home, this place is perfect. While we were touring the property, there was a yoga class going on (SEE: zen).

You can book a suite complete with your own private pool or even rent up to five bedrooms in a villa at Laluna. There’s a restaurant on the property and plenty of in-room dining options. One thing I found really cool is that they can arrange for you to go fishing, catch your dinner, and prepare it for you.

You can view the Laluna site here.

Petite Anse Hotel

grenada

Petite Anse means “little cove” and this small yet big on beauty picturesque location is where you go when you want to beat the crowds. The resort only has eleven cottages and two deluxe suites making it perfect for a romantic trip or if you just want to feel like you’re worlds away from it all. But since it isn’t so far away, if you decide to resurface and want to explore the rest of Grenada, it’s in a great location to most of the island’s attractions.

You can view the Petite Anse site here.

Sandals La Source Grenada

grenada

If you’re familiar with a Sandals resort, you’ll be happy to know this one recently opened in Grenada and is like a sneeze away from the airport. This Six Star Diamond Award all-inclusive property is like a world of its own. It’s HUGE! You could seriously stay here and never have to leave (but again, with so many things to do in Grenada, you should). It’s like it’s on island within the island. There’s ten restaurants on site serving everything you can possibly imagine from Italian to Asian to Caribbean and they’re all included during your stay. You can add on things like butler service which will do everything for you from unpacking your bags to picking out your clothes. There’s a full service spa with a hair and nail salon, live shows, parties, and a fitness center (to work off all that delicious food…lol). Seriously, no need to leave the resort because everything is there but should you decide to see sites around the island (because you should) you can easily set that up from your room.

Spice Island Beach Resort

grenada

This recipient of the Six Star Diamond Award was hands down my favorite resort. We actually got to experience a night’s stay and I was beyond impressed. The property is family-owned and Black-owned and the owners can often be seen on the property throughout the day greeting guests. I’ll have to share my stay in a separate post so stay tuned! In the meantime you can visit the Spice Island site here.

Hope you enjoyed this post! As I mentioned there’s SO many places to stay in Grenada—if you want to look into more, go here.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has shared, commented, liked, and read my Grenada posts! I’m really excited to see all the enthusiasm and outpouring of love you all have shown me in my postings. Thank you—you all are also why my Grenada experience was so great.
