It’s quite unlike me to let a new beauty brand launch come without me being all over everything, but somehow this happened with the Charlotte Tilbury line. Sometimes a girl gets backed up with beauty and things fall through the cracks. But how this happened with the makeup line of one of the most influential makeup artists of our time is beyond me. I have SO much of Charlotte’s work tucked away for inspiration yet here I was slacking on my pimping. SMH.

I actually got my first Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick as a present for my birthday and then ordered three more shades—you know—for “research.”

So these have a creamy matte formula—they won’t drag and pull on your poor lips and they won’t make them feel super dry. I also love that the tip is on a bit of an angle because it allows you to line your lips and fill them in with the same tube (you can use liner if you want more precision). Staying power is what you’d expect from a higher end lipstick—darker colors lasting longer with about 7-8+ hours of wear (since they stain and tend to linger on longer) and lighter colors not lasting as long (about 4-5 hours). But overall, the performance is good.

I do think the packaging could be a bit more special. The rose gold tubes are nice and all but I kinda want more…like how I love the packaging on a YSL or Guerlain lipstick. They do have a nice vanilla cream scent—like a really indulgent hot drink from Starbucks…lol.

Swatches

Very Victoria: a pinky mauve
Birkin Brown: a reddish-brown
Red Carpet Red: an intense blue-red
Glastonberry: a deep reddish berry

Bottom line: The shape of the lipstick makes it awesome for lining and these are some really smooth and creamy mattes. I liked these, but I wasn’t completely blown away by them like I am with other high end lipsticks.

Price and where to buy: $32 each at Nordstrom (plus 3% cash back when you use eBates)

I have heard so many good things about CT, but nothing has given me that wow factor. The colors you chose look great on you, but I, again, agree with your comment that I was not blown away. Thank you for the swatches!

I came in eyes wide open for Glastonberry but Birkin Brown certainly caught my attention! I saw them on Christine over at Temptalia and was like MEH but it looks awesome on you! Adding it to my list!

Red Carpet Red is gorgeous on you! I’m also really liking Birkin Brown and Very Victoria. I may have to stop playing around and jump on these myself lol
