I can get long-winded with reviews, so I’m going to *try* and get straight to the point here…lol. So Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme—I LOVE. These were sent to me recently for review consideration. Admittedly I was almost over the whole liquid lipstick trend, but Milani has some awesome colors and a great formula that drew me back in…lol

So in total there’s eight shades (I’m missing one) and these go on liquid but dry to a velvet matte finish. I do feel that the brush can apply too much product so I’d either swipe some off or use a brush—or even your (clean) fingers to apply the product. I also love that these can be versatile with application—apply a little and blot it down for a pretty stain or add some layers for knockout color.

01 Crush: a brownish berry red
02 Adore: A peachy pink
03 Beloved: A rosy pink
04 Lust: A medium blue-pink
05 Embrace: A pinky-red
06 Desire (I don’t have this one but Milani describes this as a bright red)
07 Romance: An intense blue-red
08 Flirt: A dark berry red

I was even impressed with the lighter pinks and ya’ll know how much I can’t stand a light pink matte…lol. My faves for now (because I can get in the mood for other colors later…lol) are Embrace, Romance, and Flirt.

Wear on these is great—it can feel a little drying after a while (if you do any balms or moisturizers before applying, make sure you give it time to settle into the lips or it’ll take away from the matte-ness of the Lip Creme). You’ll definitely need to reapply after a meal but with the brighter and deeper shades you’ll still have a stain left.

The deeper and brighter shades can be harder to take off—massaging a cleansing oil on dry lips before cleansing helps to get rid of the stain as does rubbing a wet toothbrush over the lips.

(I’m not wearing lip pencil here—that’s the contrast of the lip color and my lips—I do lip swatches back to back and sometimes it’s hard for the colors to go on my lips evenly—especially in the case of a liquid matte)

Bottom line: I LOVE these. The applicator can apply a bit too much product, but knowing that going in you’ll be fine.

Price and where to buy: about $8.99 each—I believe these are limited edition and only available at CVS stores and online at www.milanicosmetics.com BUT they recently made an announcement that they’ll be permanent starting next year. They’ll post updates on their social pages, so make sure you follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
