OK so for YEAAAARS anytime a makeup brand had a choice between a cool or warm eyeshadow palette, I always went for the cool. I LOVE cool-toned shadows. I mean, I love warm-toned ones but it seemed not enough to have a whole entire eyeshadow palette with warm neutrals in it (I mean, I may have one or two in the stash but those are exceptions), but yo—this NYX Warm Neutrals Ultimate Shadow Palette?!?!?! HASHTAG TOTES AMAZE! (are people still saying that? lol)

NYX Warm Neutrals Ultimate Shadow Palette official info:

We named this collection the Ultimate Shadow Palette because that’s exactly what it is–a pro-level palette packed with 16 high-performance eyeshadows in a rainbow of tone-inspired shades. Available in four striking color combinations–Neutral-Cool, Neutral-Warm, Bright and Smokey/Highlight–each set features a vivid mix of velvety-rich textures and mesmerizing finishes that range from mattes and satins to shimmers and metallics.

They ain’t lying about that high-performance part. Even from initially swatching these when I was photographing them, they felt butter soft and highly pigmented. The arrange of warm neutral shades is beautiful—there’s some shades in there that I may not have originally been checking for but now I’m checking for them. It’s cool when an eyeshadow palette can do that instead of there being a bunch of shadows you wind up not using at all.

Generally speaking, warm colors flatter those with warm undertones/coloring best, but these are versatile and will look amazing on virtually every skin tone no matter the undertone from very fair to very deep chocolate.

And what impressed me the most about these (aside from the shades being so amazingly pigmented and pretty) is that I tested these WITHOUT an eyeshadow primer on one of the hottest summer days in NYC yet AND while I was all around town on the subway and walking around and what not, and even after NINE hours, not a single crease and very minimal fading. I’m like what kind of witchcraft is in these shadows!?!?! lol

I love the matte reddish shades for crease transition shades especially on darker skin. I probably wouldn’t use the first three lighter neutrals in the top row (starting from left to right) much but on darker skin they can be used as a base shade to make any color you apply on top of it more apparent.

This is great but I already have Naked by UD. How would you compare the two?

Right on time. I need to replace my eyeshadows. I prefer warm neutrals. I was debating on getting a palette from Coastal Scents. But NYX looks like a good one, too. Thanks!
