Welcome to a new series! (I know ya’ll are like “how many series is this woman going to come out with?!?!” LOL). But anyway, TSABD Quick Reviews is just as its name would suggest: quick reviews. Sometimes there just isn’t a whole lot I need to say about a product, so I’ll group them together and give you the quick rundown. These are NOT like my TSABD Edit where I tend to go into detailed explanation with swatches and sometimes video demos.

Eucerin Skin Calming Body Wash

I bought this because my skin can get incredibly itchy in the winter—especially when it’s really cold out. Putting the heat on when I get home also adds to the itchiness (which is why I rarely turn it on and if I do it’s for like 10 minutes tops). So I make sure every step in my routine is conducive to hydrating and protecting my skin.

This wash was okay. It has a low lather and feels like an oil so it’s not stripping my skin like other body washes might. I don’t always feel like I’m really cleansing my skin when I use it though so I much prefer Up & Up Skin Soothing Body Wash (which is Target’s version of Aveeno Active Naturals Skin Relief Body Wash) which I bought on a whim because it was only $3 and turned out to be a good decision.

Aquaphor Ointment Body Spray

A Youtube ad made me buy this…lol. I swear social media ads will always get me. Anyway, I bought this from Amazon.com because it was like $4 cheaper than what the stores near me were selling it for. I really like how soothing this is and it really helps with my winter skin itchiness. The spray container is convenient but be very mindful of how far away you spray it because little sprinkles can get on your floor and make it slippery. Last thing I need is to fall in my bathroom. I already have enough body ailments…lol.

Collosol Eau de Lait

collosol eau de lait micellar water makeup remover

This was sent to me by the brand’s PR. It piqued my curiosity because it was touted as a great makeup remover for the winter and for dry skin in general. My skin is oily, but it IS winter so I had to try it. It feels SO luxurious and silky on the skin! It does take a few passes with a saturated cotton pad to remove a full beat, and I would also advise that you follow-up with a gentle cleanser to ensure you’ve fully removed all makeup. I still prefer cleansing oils to remove my makeup (and I also like these Olay cloths) but this was a good contender. I also like it as a third step in my cleansing routine (cleansing oil to remove makeup, gentle cleanser, and then this) to ensure all makeup is removed especially when I have my hair laid and don’t want a bunch of water splashing around my edges.

Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer

biossance squalene and probiotic gel moisturizer

Squalene seems to be an ingredient popping up in skincare a lot lately. Biossance’s line features the “mega-moisturizing molecule that instantly hydrates while locking
in essential moisture” in a number of its products. This was also sent to me by the brand’s PR.

I love how lightweight this is and it sinks into the skin immediately. I know I’d like this more when it’s warmer out though. In the colder months, my oily skin prefers something slightly more hydrating.

Drunk Elephant Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

drunk elephant jelly cleanser

This was sent to me by the brand’s PR. I always get giddy over new skincare products and always wish I had extra faces so I can try everything…lol. But alas, most times I don’t have the issue that some skincare products promise to treat so I just admire from afar. Cleansers though are a category that allows me to satiate my thirsty skincare trial desires without really disrupting my regular routine.

I liked that this cleanser cleansed well without stripping my skin and the texture felt very cool. I have some other Drunk Elephant products I’m looking forward to trying down the line as well.
