Now That My Brows are Bleached, Here They are in Auburn and Espresso

Read ALL about my review process including how I take swatches, photos, and more here.

One of the reasons why I wanted to try bleaching my brows was to try different brow colors. I like the idea of having a slight tint of color in my brows depending on what I’m doing with my makeup. So I picked up some tinted brow gel and got to work.

Specifically I picked up Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Auburn and Espresso simply because I was in a Sephora Inside JCPenney somewhere in northern GA with like maybe 20 mins to get in and out and it was the first tinted brow product I came across. I LOVE the color range (7 shades) and actually couldn’t decide which one I liked more between Auburn (reddish brown) and Espresso (rich dark brown) so I bought both…lol. But now that I think about it, I may also slide in and get Caramel (warm golden light brown—just for a slightly warmer look but I’ll mix it with something darker) or Brunette (medium taupe/brown). Ohhh and maybe Chocolate (warm dark brown). Ugh, I have a problem.

In case you were wondering about how these performed—they were okay—but I was more in this for the colors. I don’t really have any issue with my brow hairs staying in place so I can’t speak on staying power, but the color and the convenience of me picking it up while in northern GA? Yes, please!

(P.S. I tried these on my pre-bleached brows and they didn’t show up much. P.P.S. I still use a little pencil or brow powder to define my brows after I do the brow gel which now means I also want to get more brow pencil and powder colors. SMH. P.P.P.S. I should be getting the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomades in when I get back to NYC so I’ll tell you all about that soon)

And now for the pics!

I think I like the second picture better. (espresso) I also have given up on lightening my brows, The simply grow in too fast and it super easy to color them using an angle brush and any variety of brow gels/brow fillers/eyeshadows

That’s nice—I like them both. I don’t mind trying something new when it comes to beauty—stuff like maintenance doesn’t scare me because I’m used to it—bleaching brows, shaving off the side of my hair—I’ve done so much and it’s not a biggie to me.

I pulled out my Sam Fine coffee table book and reviewed the blow bleaching page and have decided I’m going for it this weekend. Wish me luck! :-)

I will! He instructs to leave on 1 minute, test and reapply if you still want to go lighter. If I go too light, I can always darken them with powder/pencil combo. I’m excited! I like the lighter brows on you, btw. They really do something with making the eyes pop.

I’m not sure which bleach he uses—it’s probably “stronger” than the Sally Hansen one I used because it took like 6-7 minutes for me to get this color. Yep, you can always dark with powder/pencil!

Thanks! They’re so much fun—I get excited trying new brow powder/gel/pencil colors…lol.
