I did a run down of face oils a while back and Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil was one of my faves I tried. So of course when the brand launched Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Cleansing Oil and sent it over for review consideration, I was excited to try.

So quick background: cleansing oils are used to remove makeup, dirt, and excess oil from the skin. Typically used dry (like don’t even get any moisture on your hands or they may not work as intended) they quickly melt everything from full coverage foundation to mascara to waterproof liner to even liquid lipstick. They’re often used in what’s known as the double cleanse—where you remove makeup with the cleansing oil and then follow with a water or gel based cleanser. Read more about cleansing oils here and more about the double cleanse here.

Cleansing oils are for all skin types but I’ve found that they can sometimes vary in texture. Some are thicker in consistency while some are pretty thin. I personally prefer something more in the middle—maybe closer to thicker when I have on tons of makeup because it makes it easier to get it off without having to give it another go. Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Cleansing Oil is closer to the thicker side and feels so amazingly luxurious on the skin. It rinses off pretty well but of course you’ll need to follow-up with a second water or gel-based cleanser to finish the job.

It is on the pricier side (yet not the priciest cleansing oil I’ve tried) but it also feels like it should be on the pricier side. There’s a blend of omegas and other oils in it that may justify some of the price but I’m not even going to pretend I know how skincare should be priced. Who knows—maybe they use a process where like fragile princesses shed one tear at a time so that angels come down and bless the omegas and the seaberry oils that go into the product and THAT has got to be costly…lol.

Bottom line: I like this—can’t say I’d buy it over my current boscia MakeUp BreakUp Cleansing Oil fave but it is impressive. If you’re a Fresh fan I’d say get a sample at Sephora and try before you buy.

Price and where to buy: $44 at Sephora (plus 4% cash back when you use eBates)
