TSABD Edit: Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette + Collection

Hey there fine folks! I have a bit of a backlog with new makeup launches so I’m just going to run right into this. Make sure you’re subscribed to the blog so you don’t miss anything—I have the Fenty Beauty Moroccan collection coming up soon and some other amazing posts you NEED to see!

So this collection is created with the globe-trotting beauty in mind (though if you’re a local lovely, you can get down with it, too) and is crafted with makeup shades that can take you wherever life leads you. There’s a good mix of neutrals with pops of color. Urban Decay sent the products to me for review consideration.

Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette

I LOVE that the eyeshadow palette packaging is pretty sleek and can easily be transported almost anywhere without taking up a ton of room. The shades included are a good mix of both neutrals and pops of colors in an array of finishes (mattes, satins, metallics and shimmers) that work on virtually all skin tones.

Like I do all eyeshadows, I tested these without primer to see how well they last on their own (though when I’m wearing shadows on a regular day, I always wear primer to make sure it lasts all day without creasing or fading). Without primer these still showed up pretty boldly and I only had some minor creasing by the end of the day, but my eye makeup still looked great. They of course also work very well with primer.

Some of the matte shades are best applied patted down in layers vs swirling them in and the shade Breakaway was a pleasant surprise because in the pan it looks like a really light matte beige, but it’s actually a shimmery shade. A few of the shades that have micro-shimmer like Stranded for instance, can have some fallout so be mindful of that when applying.

I like that you can create cohesive eyeshadow looks with JUST this palette without needing to reach for any other shadows. There are pretty crease transition colors (like Baja and Punk) and some summery shades as well as some vampy fall shades. Like, they weren’t kidding when they said it can take you wherever you need to go…lol.

Whether or not you get this palette will of course be a matter of 1. do you already have similar shades 2. do you like a majority of the colors in this palette 3. will you actually use most of the colors in this palette 4. budget. I heard some chatter about whether or not this palette is similar to the Makeup Shayla x Colourpop Perception Palette and while they both have colors in the orange, grey, pink, and blue families, the colors aren’t exactly dupes for each other. (And I’m sure makeup hoarders can easily make a case for owning both…lol)

Bottom line: Urban Decay Born to Run Eyeshadow Palette is a great quality and versatile palette. Of course whether or not you need it depends on the factors I mentioned above.

Urban Decay Born to Run 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencils

I’ve been a huge fan of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils for yeaaaaars with Perversion of course being a long time fave. I’ve talked about the formula a lot in the past so I won’t go over it again, but there are three shades Double Life (a reddish-brown metallic), Overdrive (a deep green metallic), and Lucky (a dark metallic copper) that they’ve included in the collection. See swatches below.

Price and where to buy: $21 each at Sephora, ULTA, select Macy’s stores (plus 4% cash back when you use eBates) and at urbandecay.com. See widget below for more retailers.

Urban Decay Born to Run Lipsticks

There are three colors included in this collection: Ready? (a bright rose sparkle), 66 (a rich mauve-nude), and Marfa (a dark berry with pink micro-shimmer). See lips swatches in the video below.

I personally don’t love the color choices in the lipsticks and the liners, but the product quality is definitely there.
