So Tom Ford and I Discussed His Upcoming Collection…

OK so not really, but I DID meet Tom Ford today. And talk about SUPER fangirl status on deck. Mr. Ford’s scheduled arrival was 5 P.M. Guess what time I got to Bergdorfs? 3:30. Yeah, I’m that girl.

To celebrate the launch of the Tom Ford Beauty line which premieres exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman, the fashion designer and film director himself made an appearance this evening. And I got to meet him! All I have to do know is get that Bruce LeRoy glow and I’m set for life. FOR LIFE.

Anyway, my beauty bud Felicia of This That Beauty (who writes the fabulous Bergdorf 5th at 58th blog, btw) said if you buy something from the collection, he’d sign it. I immediately sashayed over to the crowded Tom Ford counter and eyed everything at once. If you’re a sucker for pretty packaging (I know I am), you’ll fall in love with just about everything. Tons of women were buying items from the collection by the handful. Admittedly I didn’t see anything that hasn’t been done before but decided I wanted to take home a piece of SOMETHING.

I decided on the Traceless Foundation Stick which is rich in hydrants and you can vary coverage needs from sheer to medium to full depending on what you need for the day. To be honest, I’m not even sure if the Chestnut shade is a good match for my skin yet (I couldn’t see at the counter even when the gorgeous rep applied it on my jaw) but actually didn’t really care because I was getting my foundation signed by TOM FORD! Ahhhhhhh

So I get in line around 4:15/4:30 and have a conversation with a really nice gentleman in front of me. We chatted about Ford’s latest womenswear line and then he mentioned he picked up one of Tom Ford’s lipsticks (which reminds me in all my excitement I forGOT to check out the lipsticks–grrrr) for his wife who is currently traveling but heading back to the city soon. This sweet man bought the lipstick and waited in line to have it autographed by TF as a “welcome home” present. Ladies, we need to clone him!

But can we take a second to focus on these chic Tom Ford boys? There were at least ten of them surrounding the beauty counter in preparation for Ford’s arrival. HOT.

When I got up to the head of the line (which didn’t take long since I was just 6th in line), it all happened so fast. His team took my bag for me (which had my camera inside) and I walked up (to TOM FORD) with my foundation stick in hand. He joked that my item was the first of its kind he signed and made sure he could get his signature on the cylindrical packaging. I have NO CLUE what I said to him, something along the lines of thanks for the beauty line and “OMG you’re so great”. I do remember smiling a lot and gesturing with my hands…lol.

So there she is…

I honestly don’t know if I’ll use it because I want to preserve the autograph but at the same time I can’t wait to rip into it and try out the foundation. Shoot—this could be a piece of dog sh*t for all I care–TOM FORD SIGNED IT!!!!

So I’ve got my Anna Wintour autographed September Vogue and now this. Bergdorf is the best store EVER.

And you know what else? Tom Ford’s bday is 8/27/61. Mine is 8/26/81. *does the cabbage patch*

But uh, NO WAY is that fine specimen of man (who is NOT interested in my species but who cares) is 50?????!?!?!?!?

I didn’t get very many product photos because it was super crazy in there. I’ll try to go back when the store is less crowded.

Have you checked out anything from the new Tom Ford Beauty line?

That is BEYOND COOL!!!! Wow…Awesome! Perhaps you could depot the foundation (place it in another container)and get a glass case to preserve the packaging (think crystal case with red velvet pillow to set the tube on or perhaps im pushing it lol) Also for the magazine there are lots of protective films and cases for those too! You are lucky! Mark my words PLAY the lotto USING a variation of you and Mr.Ford’s birthday and the days you received this autographed piece and the magazine. You’ll win!
