Recap: My TSABD Insider BECCA Summer Chic Masterclass with Cynde Watson

I was expecting to have a great time hosting my BECCA Summer Chic Masterclass taught by celebrity makeup artist Cynde Watson because Cynde is just a doll and a joy to be around (not to mention her gorgeous cousin and model for the class actress Reilly Stith is hilarious), but the lovely The Style and Beauty Doctor Insiders who came out made it fly above my expectations. This event was SO GOOD. I love the energy that I attract because 10 complete strangers who read this blog meshed so well together and had a grand time in the name of makeup. You guys are amazing!

The setup before guests arrived

So the first of many smaller, more intimate events open only to TSABD Insiders (make sure you sign up if you haven’t already) went off magnificently at BECCA Cosmetics HQ in NYC. Guests arrived to customized makeup stations and were color matched by Cynde before we got started. Then BECCA’s Taylor Burns gave the group a brief history of the brand’s beginnings. BECCA was started by Australian makeup artist Rebecca Maurice Williams who searched high and low for one makeup brand that provided a wide range of colors and that also gave that airbrushed, perfect-skin look. When she couldn’t find it, she set out to create her own and thus BECCA was born. I’ve been in love with them since 2005 when they were at Bergdorf Goodman and have been singing the brand’s praises in beauty forums and on this blog since. Seriously, this line has shade options for the very fair to the very deep and the shades in between. The TSABD Insider group ranged in shade from French Vanilla to Chocolate Deluxe (word to WuTang) and everyone got an exact match that gave them an amazing, flawless look.

Cynde then went on to teach the group how to get a summer chic “I woke up like this” look step-by-step. And this is exactly why I wanted smaller groups because everyone got individual instruction as Cynde moved on from step to step. If mistakes were made she’d come by and give better alternatives and when you did good, you were given tons of praise.

Here’s my summer chic look that Cynde created for me before the event using BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Cremé, a new top secret BECCA concealer, BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Topaz (see review here), and BECCA Beach Tint in Papaya on cheeks and lips.

By the end everyone looked gorgeous and had more knowledge of makeup application and had fun trying out all the BECCA products. They also got to go home with everything they used which included:

Girllllll I am sooooo behind! I got really busy and haven’t read my blogs! So I have a lot to go thru. I think the post in freely backwards so this is the first one I read. I do keep up with you on IG tho so luckily I’m not completely out of the loop. And thanks for following me btw! I hope your summer has been amazing so far.
Any who, I never knew Becca cosmetics was great for us. I’m shocked. Next Sephora trip I will definitely try them out. I’m looking for a new foundation anyway, and we all know how time-consuming and frustrating that can be bc I honestly believe, like fingerprints, no two skin colors, undertones and skin types are alike. We’re always a bit off Lol but this is my next product to try. I may try this top secret concealer first bc the weather does not allow for lots of products right now lol.

BUT when I’m behind on my blog reading I LOVE it because it means when I do have time I have SO much good stuff to go through—it’s like getting a Sept issue…lol.

My summer’s been great—hope yours is as well!

GIRL. BECCA was great for us from when the brand first started over 10 years ago. SO many shades and undertones, too. Not just like the two lonely brown girl shades…lol.
